Really nice offer Barrie.  :)
I’m in the Blackpool area but am not in need of either so I hope they go to a good home and a grateful recipient.
Great to see there’s nice kind people still around.

Have you got another bike then?

My wife and I just passed the 150 mile mark for the week on our mountain bikes 😀. Good weather makes cycling a decent alternative to riding the Fazers !!
No, sorry, just don’t get that!  :lol

General / Re: Changes to the MOT
« on: 26 April 2018, 08:47:50 pm »

So if your car fails the test and you have taken it to a test centre that does not do repairs what do you do? All MOT results are uploaded and stored, so any 'dangerous' faults go on the database straight away. So I would imagine there is every likelihood that you will be picked up by police cars having ANPR cameras on them if you drive it home, more money for the Government. :grumble
The law states that you would be able to drive your car home from the test centre or to somewhere that would carry out repairs, as long as the failures didn’t cause the car to be dangerously unroadworthy, in which case the MOT tester should stop you from taking it away.
As for the ANPR, I think it’s highly unlikely that their database would be updated with your MOT failure that quickly, a day or two later maybe.

A gauntlet of fair weather boys in the petrol station this evening.  Went in the shop just before me and made a predictable, lengthy, and frankly embarrassing scene when asked to remove their helmets.
They eventually did.  So I pay and exit, the bikers are now sat on a nearby wall smoking fags while one said "Geoff won't be long he is only coming from widnes".  So they were clearly intending to wait anyway and just wanted an excuse to argue with the garage guy...
I must admit I wont take mine off, helmet off , ear plugs out, its a faf, I will take mine off when everybody has to have their head and face exposed in petrol stations. I am all for fairness, same for all is no prob. If they wont turn the pump on til I remove my helmet I just lay the nozzle on the ground and ride off, they have to come out and put it back.
I found out recently that Shell garages have made it ‘policy’ for bikers to get off their bike before allowing them to refuel, because of the risk of spilt fuel setting alight on exhausts. The patronising pr**k behind the counter made it clear to everyone on the forecourt that I was doing it wrong by still being sat on my bike, over the PA system.  :foc
FFS !
So I now have to risk slipping over in the shity forecourt putting on the centre stand.
Also how likely is it that a hot bike exhaust would set alight to petrol.
Apparently there is video footage of a bike setting alight, or so the patronising pr**k claimed.

A hundred mile round trip to Colwyn Bay/Rhos on Sea and back. Lovely weather, 9 degrees this afternoon. Positively tropical for this time of year in North Wales.
Great to see you're getting lots of time in the saddle Mike :thumbup, not that I'm jealous or anything!  :'(
Hope you're managing with your hands alright.

It’s the best I’ve found in over 30 years of riding. Very minimal fling and my chains have always lasted for ages.
Then again I do have a bad OCD for keeping my chain clean and lubed.  :lol

It seems to be the way of the world now. Reducing speed limits hasn’t had any effect so more cameras come in, not that they put the speed limit back up.  :rolleyes  There’s average speed cameras going up all over the place near me now.

Oh here's a good one for you aldi smoked salmon look at the size of the package and the size of what is actually inside. Its tantamount to focing fraud.
At least when you open your cornflakes and find a half empty box they legitimately say "some settling of the product may of occurred during transport"
Where's meh salmon gone - has it fecked off to spawn or something
Serves yourself right for going to Aldi yer tight foccer!  :pokefun

Unsilenced 125's. There's one comes past every morning.

Foccin racket.

At least big bikes sound good loud.
There's an annoying foccer lives across the road from me with a YZF125 with the loudest exhaust you've ever heard.
He screams off down the road at 7.30 every morning, after sitting at the side of the road revving it while he waits for a gap in the traffic.  :grumble

Car salesmen! My son had booked a test drive in a Fiesta ST200 at a local Ford main dealer and he asked me to go with him.
When we get there the car is not there, the salesman then tells us we cannot have a test drive in the ST200 as the finance manager has borrowed it to go on holiday, he then offered us a test drive in a 1.0 litre ecoboost as, according to him, there is not much difference, well only another 600cc and about 80bhp!
Told him to politely shove it and then he asked if we wanted to put a deposit down on the ST200 and sort out the finance, how my son refrained from very unpolitely telling him to f**k off I don't know,  at this point we just got up and walked out.
What a wanker!
That was a very lucky escape, your son can now come to his senses and not buy a chavvy POS Ford.  :pokefun :lol

The comfort isn’t bad but it could benefit from the ‘comfort’ seat that’s available, for all day riding. The ride is pretty good but then I’ve been used to stiff sports bike suspension so it’s bound to feel plush. Handles alright though.  :D
As for the spoked/tubed wheels, there’s a lot of people who moan about them but it doesn’t bother me. I’ve been riding for 30 years and only ever had one puncture so can’t see I’d be fixing it by the roadside. I’ve got breakdown cover anyway  :lol  It is possible to de-tube them but is quite a bit of work. The Pure comes with cast wheels though.

There’s not really anything I don’t like about it, maybe just the long throttle action but I’ve got a quick action device to fit when I get chance. The nice thing about them is that there’s loads of customisation options out there to make it unique easily, although they attract lots of attention in standard trim.

I wasn’t too keen on the Beemer myself as I’ve always had sports bikes, but after a bad accident a couple of years ago I knew I’d struggle with them a bit.  :'(

I took a demo R9T out for a ride at an open day and was very impressed. It’s so easy to ride, and so relaxed, and I was offered a great deal on one that was in the showroom so just went for it.

I’ve still got the Daytona though for when I want to ache after a ride  :lol

I presume it will have been like the 1299 Panigale that I had.
When I picked up the bike new, the dealers had the rear pegs and seat in a bag for my missus to take home in the car along with the handbook etc.
It wasn't optional kit, it came with the bike but I never used them.
