Shark Service
« on: 26 March 2013, 10:54:37 am »
Purchased Shark Vision R at NEC show last year from Bikerswear for good price £170.
After using for several rides, seemed to have much more wind noise than previous Shoei
Multitec.
Contacted John-Paul at Shark customer service 2 weeks ago to complain, and he suggested
I return helmet to Bikerswear Birmingham from where Shark would collect.
Anyway, got helmet back yesterday with notes attached saying no manufacture fault,
but they had replaced cheek pads, new chin curtain and complete new hermetic neck pad from Vision R
GT carbon.
Also they had checked all vents and visor seal.
Went out yesterday in gale force wind for an hour, and can't believe how quiet and comfortable helmet is now!
I know helmet should have been quieter when bought, but when manufacturer goes to a bit of trouble
it's good  to receive such good customer service.

I feel a bit like Otto leaving stoner crafts.

I was expecting predator fish in dicky bows serving potato gratin and a fine 73 bordeaux red
Smell ones mother. Yaas!

That is good to know, thanks for the info. I bought the vision r a year ago and felt it was noisier than expected. (eg Roof Diversion was better) but I liked the extra visibility and drop down sun shield. I noticed when putting my hand under the chin the noise dropped quite a lot so I am very interested in following up your experience.  How did you contact Shark?

Forgot to say, I had exactly the same experience as you and many others on various forums.
Put your hand under your chin when riding and squeeze, the wind noise suddenly disappears!

Cheers Durchy,  I'll mail him when I get back from a weekend in Wales in 3 weeks and let you know how I get on.  TVM.
