Started off last week attempting to replace carb to cylinder head rubbers(see "a senior moment" thread!
).
Bike is now resting on stand/wooden blocks, exhaust system off,rad removed, checked, repainted, coolant hoses checked & refitted with s/s jubilee clips.Entire front of engine derusted, repainted. New fuel filter % also 2 x rad hoses, 4 exhaust port gaskets, small bore carb heater hoses & clips.
Carbs about to be overhauled with service kits. Removed forks to access & drill out lower rad mount bolt that had corroded & snapped.
Now I discover steering bearings "notchy" so thats the next job!
Was planning to do all these jobs come Autumn/Winter but I have started now so may as well do the lot....Did I mention the front forks--going to phone/see my local "guru" re re-springing/oil/seals. His replacement Wilbers rear shock has transformed the bike. Best £300 ever spent on any Fazer I have owned.
Oh yes forgot to mention the front caliper bleed nipples are seized-have got a pair of stainless ones from Powerhouse so may as well do the full service on the blue spots.
