General / Re: What's the fastest colour?

Nasa painted the LEADING edges of the shuttle black for a reason. Because black is the fastest colour the fastest bits of the Shuttle are at the Front otherwise it would re-enter backwards. As you can see from the picture the slower red colours are being left behind.

Had a gentle run out to Paignton bike night. Spotted a couple of Fazers, Had a cuppa then a rather more exciting ride home with a couple of mates I met there.

260 miles following the route of tour de France from York to Skipton aysgarth hawes over buttertubs pass to reeth leyburn and Ripon then home to Yorkshire coast.

I went to Aysgarth falls once, it was beautiful.
Aysgarth Falls was where Robin Hood (with Kevin Costner) was filmed fighting in the waterfall...lovely spot.
My Dad was the Swordmaster on that there film.

Exeter-bike-breakers seem to carry a fair amount of Fazer spares. Not used them yet (as I haven't broken anything so far). They have an eBay shop as well.

I didn't like my grips, grey Renthals. I just got some thick Tennis racket grip tape from the local sports centre. They look kinda cool now, plus they are a couple of millimetres thicker which I find a lot more comfortable esp on longer rides.

My 1999 Fazer has a late two button clock set fitted into a single button casing. Plugs straight in no mods to the wiring. All works fine, just had to drill a hole where the second button would be so I can set the time etc.

Pretty much yes. If you rotate the wheel by hand look for movement on the spring ends (red arrows)

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Diagnosing a noise........another Red98 victory.
« on: 20 March 2014, 06:04:58 pm »
I reckon the noise is one of the anti-rattle springs on one of the front brakes. A slightly warped disc or gummed up disc bobbins causes the pad to rotate slightly in the caliper. look for witness marks where the top and bottom of the springs can touch the caliper.
A SLIGHT pressure on the front brake will stop it happening if it is this

Was the Disabled bay a little wider than a standard bay?  That's so the door can open fully to help with getting in and out of the car. Standard bays just ain't wide enough for many disabled. Wouldn't it have made more sense for you to scoot across when the std bay became vacant?

I'll say upfront I'm a blue badge holder. If the car park is on private property then the D/bays are not enforceable except by the owner or his agents so if they agree or can't be arsed to stop you  then go ahead.
However without the D/bays close by many places are inaccessible. Say I came into you your carpark to pick up a missed package, if I can't park close to the door then I'm screwed. If I had to park in a bay more than ten or 15 meters away then I can't actually walk to the door and back and have to use my mobility scooter. Getting that in and out of the car takes about 5 minutes plus another 5-10 minutes to recover from the effort involved. So by blocking the bay you add 20-30 minutes to a 10 minute trip out to pick up a package plus I'll probably need my meds during my recovery time. Many times I've gone places, not been able to get a D/bay and had to just turn around and go home. Maybe just that one time you could have parked outside and got your Mrs to walk across the car park.  :D
At least on the bike I just park right by the door

Two interesting facts about me.
    1) My erect knob is longer than two Argos pens held end to end
    2) I'm banned from every Argos in the country

TRX850 hanger with a YZF750 rear caliper on mine. It bolts straight on although you need a longer brake pipe if the standard one is still fitted. Mine had a braided hose of unknown origin fitted when I bought it.
