Gen 2 gearing
« on: 05 August 2018, 09:05:24 pm »
Hi all

Not posted for ages but I just got back into a 2009 gen 2, just want to pick your brains about gearing.. presuming g the gearing is standard on my bike I'd say there's scope for +1 or -2 on the rear ? She's happy in 6th sub 30mph even 25 and singing higher up may improve mpg and ridability somewhat if I mod.. this may have been covered already in previous threads but I can't find them so apologies if I am opening an old discussion and thanks in advance

Altering the gearing doesn't make a lot of difference to mpg if at all. I've done it on other bikes and not noticed any difference. I have altered the gearing to make the revs sit better at my usual cruising speed but as I have a Gen 1 it might have little in common with your gearing.
