Yep most definately.. You should only travel at a speed in which you can see to stop.. Most times if.you run into.a slower or stationary object its your fault..

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: what would you do?
« on: 06 September 2012, 11:47:21 am »
Go test drive a bandit then decide.. Im pretty sure you will stick with the fazer though.. I think the build quality and styling isfar better on the fazer..
I moved from a bandit 600 to a fazer 600 years back and never regretted it.. Saying that i just traded a bike in that i thought i would never replace (vfr800) for a fazer 1000 and i dont regret that in the slightest..

Irrespective if they were obeying the rules of the road or not theyre still classed as potential hazards and should be treated as such..

Trust no-one then you wont be dissapointed when they dont do as expected..everyone makes bad judgements now and again including ourselves.. Just gotta learn by them so theyre not repeated

And yep. Im IAM trained too

Im guessing the buyer hasnt seen the scooter yet..
Hes probably wanting the vin etc to check against the report to see if the numbers match before he commits.. Handy especially if he has a distance to travel to you too..

well ive had my first ride on the thou..
Rochdale to Cannock then up to Derby, Doncaster, York, Newcastle and finally back to the Scottish Borders.. Conditions were dry and warm and had a chance to test both day and night driving..
I must say Im impressed.. lovelely and responsive, handles great and was a lot comfier than the VFR.. I really like the upright riding position though the bars did take a little getting used to but luckilly I adapted quickly.. I was surprised how quiet it was though.. cant wait to get it up the Highlands on the twisties..
Only downsides I found was vibration on the mirrors.. Are there any cures for this?  I do miss the V4 growl when you open it up.. the inline 4 of the fazer delivers the power well but just doesnt sing the same, it reminds me more of a turbine winding up.. I can live with that though..

Needing to get my hands on a rack though, wife wont go on it without her comfort backrest (topbox)

All in all, a wise move I think  8)

cant see Mr Plod being happy about that one.. ok the weights not a problem but a nice head height bar sticking backwards with no warning triangle might just tick them off a bit..

be a weird sight going down the road though..

Dave,

me and martin (Boxer1) have to head down the A6 to Rochdale first to pick up my new fazer thou first.. plan after that depending on time will probably be M60/A34 if its a good road.. any knowlege on that one?  not a fan of motorways so trying to avoid them unless its absolutely neccessary..

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: headlight bulbs
« on: 31 August 2012, 06:58:58 pm »

I fitted Phillips extreme H4's to my Gen1 Fazer thou.  Same wattage, a more focused beam and double the brightness of standard halogens.  I'm happy with the headlamps on the Fazer.

Had the Exreme H4's on my VFR$ too, a huge noticable difference over the standard bulbs.. Ill be buying them again for the fazer I think

Hey all. Just realised i aint done the old INTRODUCE YOURSELF thing so here we go..

Im Alan and used to be on here a few years back when i had a 2003 gen 1 600cc model.. I traded that in for a vfr800 but have been tempted back to the dark side again.. :-)
A couple of mates own them and have raved about how good they are so thought what the heck.. Ill check them out

So im trading in the viffer and picking up my new machine this sunday, a rather nice looking 05 fzs1000 in silver.. Mates picking up one the same day so i can see an interesting run back home to.Scotland..
Looking forward to seeing if this machines all folks claim it to be..
