Headlamps - improvements?
« on: 21 November 2012, 11:43:04 pm »
Hi!

I was wondering if anyone had found a good way to improve the headlamps on the  square eye Fazer (without going full Foxeye)? Back on the Varadero 125 forum I used to be on, a few people had installed HIDs to their bikes to improve the awful performance from the stock setup. Has anyone done anything similar to the Fazer?

I plan on rebuilding the headlamp assembly over Christmas, but would appreciate any advice from those who've been there and done it!

Cheers!

I've done the headlight mod to have both lights on together. That made a huge difference. Then just put better (osram night breaker) bulbs in.

I've done the same as DanielT, its not the best set up in the world but it improves it loads and I find it is sufficient for my night time riding, although i don't at night very much!

Thanks, I'll be sure to look those up!

My pet project for my Fazer is going to be the headlamp. I'm thinking of linining the outside and the lower frames with blue or white LEDs, and possibly fitting Angel Eyes to the normal bulb housings. The LEDs would take the place of the running light.

This is the effect I'm working towards:

I’ve converted both sides to 35 Watt HID 4500 colour (white) with the optional relay harness for the dipping H4
Passed the MOT twice now no problems.

I fitted angel eyes too. It was more about looking good than about improving the headlights, although they are noticeable!

Bought them from Here

Did a vlog about them, which shows them better than a photo. You can see them from 5:15 in the vid
Here
They look good without headlights, but when you put headlights on, I don't think they notice
