Aren't you supposed to inform your insurance of any accident  even if you aren't making a claim?
There is no legal reason to contact your ins co.
however if you do they will automatically load your premium next year regardless if a claim is made.
as has been said and repeated, he pulled across your path, there are no witnesses, end of!

his excess will be more than that, so i would be tempted to wait him out. also, if you do not contact your insurance, it turns into a civil suit which means a nightmare for his insurance company as all they can do is write you rude letters whilst you claim HC rule 185.
you hold all the aces and he's trying to call your bluff.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: GSXR750...
« on: 23 June 2016, 08:33:20 pm »
but if its the same dog on different bikes?

lol...

i think this is going to be a stale mate, some think the GSXR is going to be faster, others the FZS600 will level peg it, from my side, riding both, i know which one i can push the hardest and fastest, but i am still very much a novice so happy that i may have little idea what i am rattling on about....

 :)

at donington i am 3s a lap quicker on my gixxer6 than on my fazer 1000, and the fazer was kicking s1000rr's. on track it's all about corner speed and angle of dangle, and that is what a gsxr is designed for!

make him get 3 quotes as well.

However..............i would be claiming off him for damage to your bike as he was clearly in contravention of rule 185, plus he forced you to take avoiding/evasive action, which puts him in the wrong. was the road damp, low sun etc.

1st rule of a RTC is never admit responsibility. show concern, say 'i'm so sorry. are you OK' but NEVER EVER, BLOODY EVER admit liability.

Jaaaaag drivers are right up there with Audi/BMW owners when it comes  to bellendish-ness

« on: 12 June 2016, 09:34:16 pm »
Categorised as a total loss cat d, so would need a new mot to prove its roadworthy

and who told you that shit! cat d just means it has been repaired through the insurance co. cat c is an uneconomical repair ie more than a fixed % of the bikes value.

a total loss is just that.....total, ie unrecovered theft or fire or hello mr artic

as has been mentioned earlier bikes don't need to be re-tested for cat c/d.

ins co. might require an engineers report or perhaps a new mot so they know they aren't covering a ringer/death trap but no legal reason to have a new test. there was a guy on FBOC trying to sell a cat B with an MOT, just shows how much attention DVLA/ins co really pay

General / Re: Trailering the bike
« on: 12 June 2016, 03:47:52 pm »
I wouldn't use a stand as a 3rd point of contact as they have been known to break :(
If the trailer is a proper bike jobbie then it will have some form of wheel immobiliser.
1 strap of each of the bar ends and compress the forks +50%.
Pillion footpegs are also a good tie-down point. As has been mentioned, put gloves/jacket under any straps that go over seat or near paintwork

You need a new mot because your old one has expired or because it's now on the insurance register?

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / S1000R test ride
« on: 09 May 2016, 09:07:45 am »
Took my mates fully tricked (but still in restricted mode) beastie for a ride.
Firstly it's tiny. Secondly the crank has no mass so spins up phenomenally quickly.
In dynamic pro mode!!!!!!! it's like taking a jack Russell for a walk.
Getting a full power ride next weekend so we'll see if it's improved.
Not a bike you would want to ride every day.
Fazer felt like it was running on 3 after riding it though!

As many of you Foccers will know I sold my Mighty Fazer Thou and bought a new 2016 Kawasaki Z1000sx.

As rightly noted by a few of you it would be down on power against my fully Ivanised Fazer.........but not any longer......all it needed was a few modifications, time and effort and a bucket full of money ;)
corrected for you :lol

glad you are happy with it now!

Firstly, @95kg you are too heavy for a standard spring.
Secondly, shortening the dogbones will soften the suspension even further iirc.
50mm is too high unless you are going for the German fighter look

2nd gear and either 6k and clutch it or 7.5k and bounce it up on the throttle.
And 3rd gear wheelies...........off the clutch, luv2c that!

accusing jockeys who have £4k at stake between 1st and 2nd of chucking a race is a pretty serious matter. you obviously haven't seen the finish of the race, posted for you however.
i understand piss taking just fine, your remarks came over as small minded and malevolent.

Jennys Surprise lived up to her name by winning the Royal Artillery Gold Cup at Sandown Park.
If it was hardly a shock that the 5-4 favourite triumphed in the 133rd running of this historic contest at Esher, the manner of her triumph certainly was.
It seemed Newton Thistle, with Harry Wallace on board, would get over the line first after seeing off Cowards Close - chasing the first back-to-back victory since 1890 - and going clear two fences from the end of a three mile chase which must have felt rather longer given the soft ground.
But Brodie Hampson refused to give up in the heavy rain and, as the leader visibly tired going up the steep final furlong, caught and overtook Newton Thistle to win by one-and-a half lengths

now be a good chap and fuck off if you are going to belittle someone else's acheivement!

Shergar. ....... ..I'm talking about proper racing not that namby pamby flat stuff.
Oh and according to the RP it was 15 lengths she made up with just over a furlong to go.
even they described it as an amazing win. Watch a video of it and tell me then you're not impressed.

I take it you didn't see the race then. 12 lengths down at the last and won by a length. Too much pride for the military jockeys to lose to a little girl.
