led brake light in top box.
« on: 24 March 2013, 08:00:36 pm »
Has anyone fitted led lights in their top box as extra brake lights?
I want to fit some but don`t know what is the correct way to wire them in, such as do I need a resistor or not?

Not fitted any LEDs but I think just wire it as normal as long as they are 12v, the resisters are if you don't change the flasher unit on indicators, so they flash at the right speed. you should get info with the light to be sure or ask someone who knows, lol.

If it is a standard led it will need a resistor. I put a lower value resistor from the brake light and a higher value from the side light so it is on all the time but becomes brighter when the brake is applied.
