Thanks stevierst and falcon 269 for your advise,
Started it when I got home from work today and it's now running fine ( idling correctly from cold start) so think your write as I did take it round the block yesterday when it did idle at 3000 rpm so hope those gremlins fell out and are long gone,I even rode to oxford and back tonight just to check every things ok and it is,
So thanks again for all advise given

Yeah it has automatic choke but usually from cold revs to 1500 rpm then when warm drops to just under 1000 rpm , I just don't know why it went to 3000 rpm as it's never done it before

Been busy and not started my bike (2006 gen2 fz1) in over 2 months so started it and it fired up first time as it's always does but for some reason it was idling at 3000 rpm as it normally idles at 1500 rpm from cold ,I then popped it in gear and it dropped back down to 1500 rpm, does anyone know why it did this as it's never done it before is it something to get checked.it has got a pc111 on it,so could this be causing the problem
Any advise would be great

Spoke to dyno jet technician today and I had the us stock map so put European stock map on and found O2 eliminator plug in the dyno jet box aswell. Bonus!!!!
Just been for a ride (only 10 minutes) and it feels like a different bike.a great bike made better

I was told it would sort out snatchy throttle. mines an2006 and rode my mates same bike and its a different bike, I could be completely wrong

Installed pc111 no probs but was second hand of eBay and had been mapped with his mods,I've downloaded the stock map as my bike is a stock bike,just a worried about how lean it is now because it says -8 .power commander obviously know what there doing just don't want to damage my bike being too lean, has any run there bike on stock settings or does anyone know a bit about pc111 that could help?

£70 for both exup cables for gen2 fz1, I have only had my fz1 about 1 month sold aftermarket can that was on the bike and original I got with bike must of been kicking about in a garage so lots of scratches all over the place no acident damage.and was taken of when bike was brand new,anyway bought another oem exhaust in great condition with exup and cables so bolted it on instead ,I sold the scratched exhaust and exup valve but he didn't want cables for sum stupid reason as it was sold as a package so there up for grabs

Love it it ticks all the boxes and when I bought it it had givi top rack and pipe werx end can , never heard of them before and would proper backfire and was far too loud it had baffles? so don't know if it had been messed with ,anyway I will get proper can soon,what do you think too lower fairing? I love it but my mates hate it

hi all just joined this forum as have bought my first fz1 first yamaha actually and i love it,had several bikes before from hondas,suzukis to a ducati but for some reason never a yamaha.fz1 is by far the best bike ive ever had, and wont look to change it for some time,anyway hello to you all
