Hi does anyone know if you can get hand guards for fazer gen 1 600 1998 , or anyone found any that fit with a small mod . Also that dont fowl the fairing . :b
-
Yeah, one of my mates has them fitted, he's never mentioned having to mod anything, but different makes will. Be different sizes!
-
I've looked into it but the way my bars are positioned there's no way i could fit them without hitting the fairing.
-
On my fazer I have a set of renthals and I have just put these on http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-Universal-Metal-Handguards-Suitable-for-Yamaha-600-Fazer-Streetfighter-/150994357878?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2327f70e76 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-Universal-Metal-Handguards-Suitable-for-Yamaha-600-Fazer-Streetfighter-/150994357878?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2327f70e76)
I was looking at the LED ones but didnt like the single attachment point

-
No I don't have a fairing

The single mounting ones should be fine
-
Yeah that doesn't really count, on full lock i have about 3mm gap between my fairing and front brake lever! :(
-
I looked into fitting a set of DL650 hand guards to my 2002 fox-eye but there isn't enough space on full lock.

If you have a fairing it ain't happening!
-
You need to move the fairing forward two inches like I had posted previously, then you can fit any handguards you want :-)

Yeah, i remember that now you've said it, but to be truthful i wasn't too keen on elongating the bike any more, it looked a bit too forward for me.
-
I decided no hand guards would fit with the fairing where it is unless you want to look into restricting the lock stop so bought some Tucano Urbano muffs instead.
-
These should fit.

As they only mount on the end of the bars

They still go in front of the levers though?

You mean like a set of wind catchers :lol

Just saw this thread.
Am 'mildly' hijacking this but on my Mk2 Foxeye which has the same kind of issue of the hand guard fouling the fairing - I went for this option below which gives some (and anything is better than nothing) wind protection to the hands by extending the fairing. I got it from 'Motorbikes & Parts' who no longer list it on their site but the 'TCP' link shows the UK distributor over in Holland (which will increase the cost)(and language barrier). Plus - the part is not cheap.
This will be the first winter I've used it so have not been able to test it yet but anyone who rides through winter won't need me to tell them that wind chill on your fingers is no fun.
