And yesterday I put a brand new pair of Michelin PR 3s on, goodbye wobbly bars  :)

I'm not convinced fully synthetic is worth the extra money.

As bikers we probably change engine oil religiously, and in many cases, don't even do many miles either, so the oil we throw out probably has more life left in it than we care to admit.

Has anyone ever seen any evidence that fully synthetic has any real-world benefits for motorcyle engines?

Today, I 'ave mostly been fitting a TCP screen and hand-guards to my Fazer.

I'd post a photo, but it looks crap. Well, it doesn't, but the bolts do, it needed longer than standard screen bolts, so I've had to order some off fleabay.

I also fitted a lead to the battery so I can plug a battery tender in.

But the most important job of the day was to book it in to get it's new Michelins fitted, the old Bridgestones are on the limit at the front and square at the back, and it wobbles like a terrier shaking a rat if I take my hands off the bars for any reason.

Well it's now on the list of things to do, may leave it until the winter though, needs new tyres first.

Well now, a useful update for those still considering the mod  :)

Thanks to Debtman for pointing this out - Wemoto are now stocking YSS emulator valves for £68.  Saves on all that International postage and Import Tax tomfoolery  :lol

I should probably rename this thread to YSS Emulators...

Thanks for that link, it was on the first page of a Google search, you sure you're not a Google employee  :rollin

Standard are 140mm from centre hole to centre hole.
More mm lowers the bike, and less mm raises it.

Thanks darrsi, I'll get my measuring irons out and check it. If it's wrong, they're only a few quid on fleabay and it'll be a good excuse to grease all the undercarriage while I'm on :)

Well, after several other bikes, I've gone back in time and bought a 2003 Fazer 600.

It's in lovely condition, but being 14 years old it has picked up a few little problems in the 14,000 miles it's traveled.

Yesterday I had a go at balancing the carbs and sorting the freeplay on the throttle (there wasn't any!), will find out how good a job I've done today, I hope.

But there's one thing I need some help on - I suspect it may have been lowered at some point, it didn't feel like it wanted to turn and the side stand seems close to the ground when extended, I also seem to remember my original 2003 bike being a bit higher in the saddle, maybe I'm heavier and it's just squishing down more...... does anyone know what length the standard dog-legs are on the suspension?
