My new lowered foot rests
« on: 15 July 2015, 01:30:56 pm »
Fitted these yesterday, drops the pegs down about 27mm. They are not as ugly as I first thought, think the design would have been improved if they had cast in a 45 degree support instead of just leaving it 90 degrees. They do fold inwards same as the stck ones but diffo reckon they would shear off if the bike drops on them. I have yet to try riding with them but a lot easier for me to sit on the bike now. Just waiting on the heat of the day going off and will have a wee run around the mountains at the back of me.

Don't look too bad,  be interested to know how much the ground clearance in corners is affected, something like this might help my right knee :)

Hi Slappy, sorry but do not think I will be able to supply you with that info, my peg grounding days are well behind me now. I still reckon there is plenty of room. I still have not ridden the bike yet, it is just far to bloody hot here and I do not belong to the shorts and tee shirt brigade.

Just a heads up I have a similar set on my ZZR and rotating cam bit would work itself loose and rattle
I have now completely removed the adjustable cam bit and just put the peg on as it low enough it stock for what I need
So just keep your eye (and spanner) on them  :D
Its just a ride

Cheers Ralphie, had a bimble out today took a wee bit of getting used to but managed a run of 200 kms. I will not say I was pain free but certainly better than stock pegs. No problems with ground clearance.
Will keep and eye on the fittings and the screws, I have used Loctite blue when fitting so hopefully will be okay.

Jez, don't know what you mean by grinding off the pivot bolt.

These are mine.

Sorry, wrong thread.
