I've noticed since owning my Gen2 that the petrol gauge on it is really slow to show the true amount of fuel when you first start it up? For instance this morning I started the bike and the fuel bar is flashing to tell me it's low but by the time I've driven 2 miles or so it's displaying 2 bars? Happens at any amount except full for some reason? It's not a major problem but just wondering if anyone else's doing something similar?

Noticed recently that my bike has been getting stupidly hot really quick while idling. The temperature guages shows 70degrees about 60 seconds from start up. The temperature rises 2degrees every few seconds until I start to ride, Then it's fine. Stays around 70-80 while I'm moving but as soon as I stop it quickly rises again? Also there is a strong 'hot' smell that seems to radiator from the front of the engine/downpipes area.
Only thing I've changed recently is the fuel map so that's my first assumption, I'm also gonna flush the coolant as I don't know when it was last changed. Other than that I'm at a loss? Anyone have any other ideas?

I removed my baffle earlier just to see what it sounded like and decided to leave it out for the day but while out riding I seemed to notice signs of lean running again? Pops on deceleration, revs hanging slightly and smells rather hot around the downpipes? I'm just wondering if removing the baffle can make that much difference or is it just a more noticeable underlying condition?
It's a 2007 fz1n with all the mods except flies (they are still standard)

For those of you with power commanders, I'm just wondering what you think to the maps that dynojet supply on their website? I've only recently got a pc3 and tried the Lars map but didn't find it worked well for me. The bike seem to run quite hot and I still got popping on deceleration. So I've just looked on the dynojet site and they have a map that seems to be for my exact mods (euro model, akrapovic slip on with baffle, aftermarket air filter and 02 sensor blocked) so I've just stuck that on but not had chance to try it yet.

Just been under the tank fitting a power commander and was trying to find where to plug in the o2 eliminator? I can't for the life of me find anything that tell me where to put it? Anyways while I was there I found this plug that doesn't seem to have anything going to it? Anyone have an idea what Its for? It's on the throttle side of the bike tucked in the frame, right next to the airbox

Just wondering which brands of battery are considered to be best? I've never bought one and they all sound Chinese to me haha

Got her out the garage this morning and went to start her up and..... nothing. The dash comes on and all the checks are done and when I press the start button it turns over but will not fire. As soon as I release the start button the dash does all the start up procedure again and the temp guage says HI? I've tried the red key too but same thing and now I've killed the battery.
I didn't have time to check much as I had to come to work but gonna try a battery charger when I get home and hope for the best.
Other things to note are that it's very low on fuel (1bar) and it was sold cold last night the car was frozen.
Any suggestions please?

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321293397340Just found this. Any idea if it will work alongside a pc3? Seems perfect for the price but ya know what say about something being too good to be true 🤔🤔

Just wondering if anyone has changed theirs to aftermarket ones? And if so are they worth the cost?

Is it worth buying a used one? Or is it the kind of thing you want brand new? I need one is all and there are a few on the bay at reasonable prices

So today I finally got round to lifting the tank on my bike. And what a pleasant surprise! The air box mod had been done and as I dug deeper I saw that the AIS has been removed and the block off plates fitted (I think lol) Thing is I've always had the popping on deceleration which I thoughthink was suppose to attributed to the AIS system? Are there any other causes for it?
Also now I realise I really should get a power commander as I have the air box mod and an aftermarket exhaust without the exup so I would imagine the bike is being held back by poor fueling?
I've added some pics of what I found under there. Can anyone tell me which air filter this is so I can replace it when the time comes?

I've never owned a fuel injected bike before so all this is new to me. Firstly do I need a power commander to flash the ecu or can it be done without? And secondly I've ready yamaha changed the ecu maps on the 2011 and 2015 models. Does anyone know if the re-flash was any good? And is it something yamaha are likely to do for me or should I just take it to the local dyno guy and get him to flash it with something else? Cheers

I'm just wondering if there are any other bikes rearsets that will fit onto the gen2 without modification? For example would say zx6r ones fit? I'm after a black set purely for aesthetics and dont really wanna fork out for stupidly expensive adjustable ones or rely on cheapo chinese copies. Ive had a nose around the usual places and there are plenty of black factory ones from other bikes but I just thought I'd see if there any particular models I could look for? Cheers

Hey as I'm new to EFI bikes I'm just wondering if this is normal..... I can hear a weird kind of rattle when I open the throttle? It doesn't matter which gear I'm in or what speed, it only does it when I open the throttle. As soon as I shut it off it goes away? Is this normal for these bikes?

Just found one under my seat? Never heard of it before. I've done a quick Google and found the website but juts keep saying about correcting the speedo? I don't know why it wouldn't be right anyway? Does it mean I might not have stock gearing? Are they any good? Or shall I get rid of it?

I've just noticed that I have silver calipers on my bike. I've had a good look and they don't appear to have been painted or powder coated but they obviously aren't the normal ones that come with this bike. Anyone have any idea what they would be off? Only silver calipers I can find are from a 04/06 r1 but they looked a more shiney kind of silver?

Just a few things from my first week of ownership. This second gen Fz1n is my first naked bike and first litre bike so some things are taking some getting used to.
Screen or no screen? I don't yet have a screen on the bike. I've just been out on a 'spirited' ride and can honestly say I didn't really enjoy it due to what I think is wind buffeting. At lower triple figure speeds the front end started to feel quite light and flighty so I tried leaning into it a bit more but as I lowered my head my helmet was being rocked left to right (kind of like saying no but very fast) it was so bad it actually made me dizzy for a few minutes. Will a screen help with this? Or will it make it worse by making an area of lower pressure in front of my face?
Other thing is I have a hyperpro steering damper, again never had a damper before, and it seems very loose which I hope is normal and it also has a dial for setting it. Is this something I should play with or just leave alone? Lol
And lastly it has a standard ecu map so I'm suffering with the crap throttle response from closed to open and getting a lot of (very cool sounding) bangs from the aftermarket exhaust on deceleration. Is there anyway to smooth this out without having to spend a fortune on a power commander and dyno time etc etc?
Sorry for the essay. And thanks in advance for any advice you can give

Hey just wondering which aftermarket rearsets yoy guys are using for the gen 2? I've seen a couple of these Chinese copy ones online for £100 but I don't like to use that kind of stuff as a rule so I'm looking at some better ones, problem is I don't have a clue what's good and what's not anymore? There are brands that I've never heard of selling for £2-300? Then there's the obvious Giles etc selling for big money. Is it still a case of you get what you pay for?

Hey guys/girls I'm Adam. I'm a Tattooist from Essex but living in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire.
I've just recently bought a 2007 FZ1n Abarth assetto corse rep. It's an absolute beaut! Once i figure out how to add picturea ill be sure to put some up. My last bike was a Yamaha thundercat which I owned for around 3 years.
Anyways I thought I'd come join up here so expect some silly questions and possibly crude humour.
