Thanks for the feedback and reassurance Mickvp. I will have another go tomorrow. I tried a similar approach to you today and the bolt did not seem like it was showing any sign of freeing. Cheers, Rich

I have purchased one of these and just taken the cover off to have a go at fitting. I have backed out for tonight as have found the bolt too tight to remove with my small socket set and will have a go with a larger one tomorrow when the light is better. Just a little concerned at the amount of pressure required to free the bolt and the effects on the cam chain turning as I don't want to upset anything. Should I be concerned or just use more force? Any advice appreciated. Thanks

I have Renthals on my Gen 1 and found them a bit buzzy as standard with the renthal bar ends. I wouldn't say wobbly though!  I bought some Bandit bar ends (heavy) on eBay and cut the internals off my light renthal bar ends and used longer bolts. Worked a treat. See attached picture

I have BT 023's on my Gen 1 and have done about 3k on them so far. I run the front at 36psi like you and they are wearing evenly. Good tyres in my opinion.

Agreed. Strong message delivered effectively.

Just a thought. Is it possibly a situation where the brake pedal is set slightly too high. I have recently bought some new boots and they have changed my foot position slightly to my previous ones. When I first rode my bike in the new boots it felt like I was stamping on the brake so I dropped the pedal down a few millimetres and now it's fine again.

Hi Fizzy Pies, I may possibly have the magnetic tank bag base you need. I have an Oxford Sports tail pack which I have had for years and bought a magnetic base off eBay which I hoped would fit. Unfortunately I was wrong as the pitch of the zip teeth is different. The tank bag base has large teeth and the tail pack I have has small teeth. See picture below which should clarify. Anyway, if your tail pack has large teeth, then you may be in luck and we can work out a plan to get it to you if interested.

Oil and filter changed and stripped and lubricated the EXUP valve for the first time. Not as daunting as I imagined. All the fixings removed, lubricated and refitted in line with the excellent instructions on the forum.

I had my bike Full Monty'd by Mike mid May and have just been on a bike trip in France for a week. The bike was faultless with considerably more mid range grunt than standard and a stronger power delivery in the higher rev range. The fuelling is spot on and you can drop right down to low revs and it just pulls cleanly as you accelerate. I was interested to see what the mods would do to the MPG which averaged at 49 mpg before and 50.5 mpg after. See picture below. The lowest (48 mpg) was a fast motorway blast from Bournemouth to Folkestone. The other fills were French roads. I would thoroughly recommend having this work done.

Had my bike Full Monty'd yesterday by Mike too. Well worthwhile with fantastic results. Thanks Mike and anybody considering but unsure, don't hesitate. It makes everything feel right with strong linear power delivery through the range.

I have fitted one recently on my FZS1000 and it is very good. Sounds great and well made. I have only run mine with the baffle in so far and it sounds great without being offensive.

I had the same problem on a Givi box where the key snapped off in the lock. Tried tweezers without success then as last resort put a tiny spot of superglue on the end of the broken key and carefully pushed against the broken bit within the lock. Gave it 30 seconds or so to bond and withdrew the key carefully. Worked a treat.

I don't know, but I am considering and also have a local friend thinking about it too. I am in Bournemouth. Maybe a chance to make up a worthwhile trip with a few more.

General / Re: Fractured Radius Bone - Would you Scooter It ???
« on: 05 January 2014, 12:26:13 am »
Hi Frosties, I was unfortunate to fracture my radial head in my right arm in early Nov 2012 following an off and started riding again in mid Feb 2013. Although I felt ok to ride, I didn't really regain strength until about September following regular physio sessions and even then my arm was still painful. I did not have a plaster as with my fracture position I was advised that it was better to avoid if possible to enable maximum movement when healed. As it is now I have lost about 10% movement and can no longer straighten my arm fully. Hopefully your  fracture is less obtrusive and I guess if it is the radius rather than the radial head it may not effect the twisting motion quite as much. Hope you recover soon. I would stick to the car until you feel strong enough.
