« on: 14 January 2015, 11:29:44 am »
The wife is offering to buy me a new bike to mark a milestone birthday I reached recently.....problem is I just can't bear to think of getting rid of the mighty Fazer thou. Being a fair weather biker I don't go out often enough to justify and have the luxury of having two bikes so the Fazer would need to go.

I have been given a decent budget but it would need to be way better in all departments for me to even contemplate it.

Been looking at KTM 1290, ZZR1400, Hayabusa, Z1000SX, Speed Triple R, Tuono V4R, BMW S1000R......probably all better on paper but maybe not justified for my needs of Sunday scratching.

General / Bikespeed UK Foccer Discount on Tyres and all other products
« on: 10 November 2014, 04:58:39 pm »
Hello fellow Foccers

The guys at Bikespeed UK have very kindly offered an additional 5% discount for all products on their website. I know a few of us are looking at tyres at the moment coming into the winter and any additional saving is a bit of a bonus.

You can either do this online at www.bikespeeduk.com or give them a call on 01506 811906.....the discount code is FOCU5 (that's the number five) and will take about 48hrs to be activated.

Good to see we have some support to all our approx. 3,800 members here.

Cheers

BBB

Admin....maybe we can have a new section on here for all suppliers willing to give discounts for us, I did this for Scottoiler direct but these posts get lost down the posting order.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Braking Question
« on: 02 June 2014, 04:13:31 pm »
Was out at the weekend breaking in a new back tyre, as the miles added up so did my riding confidence but I noticed that my front brakes started squeaking under heavy braking. Back at world headquarters I noticed that the brake pads move slightly when pushed by hand and wondered if this was normal or the cause of the squeaking....any advice would be very much appreciated.

I know there is always interest in Scottish Tours in the summer, places to go, best routes etc.

Kevin Carmichael (ex world stunt champion) offers Scottish tours, either personal or part as a group, guided (with the man himself) or unguided throughout Scotland and can even offer bike hire if required.....Christo take note.

Well worth a look at his site on the 3,5 and 10 day tours as I know from personal experience that these routes are absolute crackers.

May be a cracking ScoFo tour for us foccers only.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Power Down
« on: 02 April 2014, 11:52:47 am »
My mighty fazer though made its 2014 debut last week after been stored up for hibernation during the long Scottish winter of 5 months. I used a fuel stabiliser and battery on optimiser and kept it in my warm dry garage.

I had a bit of bother with the exup, rev counter going to 7k but this was due to the motor sticking and is now working as it should, valve and cables are all perfect.

I took it easy for the first good few miles to get her warmed up, get rid of any stale fuel and break her in. When opening her up I thought it was picking a bit a bit slower than usual but was definitely down on top end.

Any ideas what could cause this before I go and get it dyno'd

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Exup troubles
« on: 23 March 2014, 05:54:54 pm »
Had the mighty Fazer though out after about 5 months of Scottish winter. Kept it on a battery optimiser and put a fuel stabiliser in for good measure. After about 5 minutes saw the dreaded rev needle going to 7k and back to zero continuously......bastard exup seized me thinks....went straight home nursing and cursing hoping I wouldn't do any damage.

Now question is do I try and fix myself or take it to my expensive trusted mechanic......anyone got any idea what this is likely to be and and what cost
