Does FZ1s need a PC if MIVV pipe is fitted?
« on: 15 September 2016, 08:40:22 pm »
Hi all,

I'm about to buy a 2008 FZ1s - with the decent half fairing.

My question is this:

If I buy a MIVV pipe, or similar, because bike is fuel injected, will it require a Power Commander?  (I'm guessing yes). But prefer confirmation from those in the know!

If you know, please let me know.  ;)

Cheers.  :)

I have an akrapovic pipe on mine and no PC
From what I can tell the only negative effect is awesome sounding pops on deceleration haha
Obviously a pc is gonna help smooth it out but it's perfectly rideable (and sounds the nuts) as it is :)

I had a Mivv pipe, no PC required.
You may want to block off the AIS hose (bottom left of airbox-Tank off to get to it) with a marble to stop all the popping on decel.
