Oil in airbox
« on: 17 June 2015, 03:44:20 pm »
Hi everyone newbie here. Along with other bikes I have a 2005 Yamaha Fazer 1000 (UK model) which I have had from new which has now covered 20000 miles. Bike has if anything been over serviced in its life and does not see bad weather. Following this winters lay up (I start all my bikes once a month in winter to keep them alive) noticed that bike seemed to be running a bit rough and lumpy. I put fresh petrol in it and did about 50 miles and it stayed the same. Bike has always run lean low down, but it now seems worse. Just serviced the bike and noticed a fair bit of oil in the air box (K&N filter) and oil running out of drain pipe at bottom of engine. Plugs were OK though.Engine ETC is standard apart from K&N and a BOS end can. Thoughts would be appreciated.
