Seen this Firestick https://www.koditvstick.co.uk/products/amazon-fire-tv-stick-with-kodi-xbmc-firestick-android-tv-fully-loaded?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=googlepla&variant=6014202563&gclid=CjwKEAiAqozEBRDJrPem0fPKtX0SJAD5sAyHEnThqI68qJUa6iCL6xIyz8RMPH54rpJsd9paCiRlHxoCopbw_wcB

Now I'm presuming that you are paying someone £25 to load all the stuff on that is free of charge if I did it myself?

But the attraction is it will all work out of the box and according to the blurb, it's self updating so I shouldnt have to cock about, just plug it in and watch. Or is it too good to be true, because if it was, for £60 I'd give it a try.

Honestly mate, its not worth paying £25 to have the stuff installed. it can be installed as per the earlier videos in this thread within 10 minutes and it will update itself as well if you do that!

it is really very simple to do if you follow one of the many guides available.

Im a shortarse as well. 5'7" and just under 29" inside leg. Im a bit heavier though and so the bike sits lower with me on. I manage fine on the thou, and have done the R6 shock with Lukes dog bones which is fine too. I tend to lean it slightly to the left and get one solid foot down though :)

Welcome Wee Rocky :)

I am from near Glasgow myself (Dumbarton). I got quite lucky and got my thou Ivanised by mike not long after I bought it (A lot of the scottish foccers got done in one weekend when Mike came over). I dont know of anywhere local that does the ivanising, although something tells me bigbluebear had his slip on kit (not full monty) done by a local company?

I think cyclists should really have some sort of basic insurance requirement and I dont see what sort of bearing the combined weight of cyclist + bike have on the matter either? A "100Kg cyclist+ bike" still has the ability to cause a lot of damage, not only directly through them colliding with another vehicle, but also by their actions directly causing an accident invlving multiple vehicles and then the scope of the damage becomes more apparent.

VED is a no-go though I would have thought as its based on emissions now? unless its a brussel sprout fuelled post-christmas ride, the emissions ought to be fairly low :lol

Insirance for all road users if nothing else ought to make everyone who uses the roads a bit more accountable for their actions.

I would have said it would be more the green cars fault than anything. Yes, the blue car flashed them out, but this means nothing as the onus is still on the green car to check its clear before actually going out. The red car is past the line on the wrong side, but is really just filtering and giving themselves a bit more room?

Worst case split fault between bike and car, but i personally see the green car is at fault. flashing people out is a problem in itself, but the highway code is pretty clear on what flashing lights means legally (although that is rarely what its used for).

Hi Red

I've just bought myself a new telly 3 weeks ago (I cashed in on this "black friday" malarkey). Most of the guys have mentioned the main points: refresh rate is key for gaming, the more Hz the better as this is what smooths movement out during fast gaming (same also applies if your watching a lot of footy etc).

if you can get a 4k for what your wanting to spend then go for it as it will somewhat futureproof the TV too. mines has got smart TV functionality which i thought was a bit of a gimmick, but ive already found myself sticking youtube on through it to stick music on a few times :o

size wise just go for whatever seems the best deal, I had a 50" in mind initially, but because of the deals at the time I ended up with 58" because all the other features I wanted were there and the price was good, so dont limit yourself too much to size, just focus on the resolution and refresh rate (i.e. the quality) and the rest will be what it is.

John Lewis do a 5 year warranty on all their TV's and have a price match service... worth bearing this in mind as most TV's only come with a 2 year warranty out the box ;)

Costco (if you have one local and have a card/know someone) also do the 5 year warranty on TV's at no extra cost.

be delighted to see it return.

The ad thing looking like posts is annoying but that can be turned off completely at a forum level.

General / Re: accident claim?
« on: 22 November 2016, 05:33:32 pm »
the insurance are dismissing his claim.I did not go directly into the back of him which he claimed.he was driving to my right at the roundabout and I was going straight ahead and just clipped his plastic bumper and left a little scuff mark.I also said to them that if I had hit it hard enough to cause injury dont you think that we'd come off worse seeing that we were on a motorbike?I also to the insurance I do hope that your going to do him for fraud.. you mention that to him and he'll shit himself. they laughed.anyway the reason I put this post up is to let any of you know ..even though you settled without going through insurance get as many details off him or her.are hurt? if they say no get it in writing and if they refuse get the police involve.

i had a wee bump in my car at the start of the year. did the same as you and just decided to sort it without getting insurance involved. The woman i hit had a quote to get her car repaired for £150 and I think the excess on my car policy was £75. A no brainer really when you consider the bump in premiums that would result in a claim.

Anway. when I went up to pay her I made her sign a statement that the money I had paid settled her claim in full. Whether it would stand up in court is another matter if it came to that, but it made me feel better doing it that way and the woman didnt seem to mind signing it either.

Aye it's an app which can let you get onto most forums you are on without having to log in every time etc. I wouldn't try to get on here at the minute though as logging on here through the app is disabled at the minute.

Aye,

I use it all the time as it's easier to get into here when I'm out and about (plus I can upload pics through it a lot easier).

It's a great thing, but they do update the forum side software a bit too often definitely.

« on: 26 October 2016, 12:45:16 pm »
I've got a scorpion can on mine. Baffle is only in for MOT really, I do notice it's a bit flatter with it in but then mines has had the full monty done so it's not really setup for riding with a baffle in now.

I wouldn't have thought it would have been an issue with a standard engine, should still be better flowing than the OEM unit.

I have a roku which is the same sort of idea and you need to go into each of them individually. I would imagine the now tv box and all the other ones with "apps" are the same.

I knew someone would mention salt in the washing up liquid, when I was a poor apprentice still living at home  my RD250 would get washed every week for two years with whatever washing up liquid I found  in my mums kitchen, never did it any harm.
I think you would have to leave your bike soaking in neat washing up liquid for years for any effect to be noticed.

The leaving in on is not the problem. The fairy liquid itself is just a degreaser. The problem lies in the salt when it is rubbed over the paint. The salt is harder than the paint surface and so it causes micro abrasions and marring on the paint surface which affect the finish.

That being said, the best product in the world will do exactly the same thing when coupled with a poor wash technique. For many marring and swirls are an inevitability.

The colour of the paint has an effect as well as swirls and marring don't show up much on silver or white paint, but show up a lot on black paint.

This is a car I did a while ago which had been being washed with a poor wash method and using fairy liquid:

The sun is showing the swirls pretty clearly.

And the same car after having the swirls corrected via machine polishing:

Being honest though, most people don't even look to that sort of level and yes, it's pretty anal to the n'th degree. If swirls don't bother you then fairy liquid is no problem - it does strip wax off though so if you want your wax to last I would use something less aggressive.

I use turtle wax wash j wax from Costco - its £15 for 25 litres and does the job. Polishing I use a few things depending on what I want to do and I use collinite 476s for my waxing.

Use them loads. Last time I bought from them I used their fitter as well rather than just ordering the tyres and I had no problems :)

« on: 12 October 2016, 03:53:49 pm »
You can do a bit of faffery with the mirror legs to make the mirrors sit further out if I remember correctly. It involves swapping the legs from side to side and taking the mirrors off the stalks. Cheap option though :)

I'm sure I read about it on here before so a search will likely turn up some info..

Removing coolant is not strictly needed but removing the radiator makes the job easier, that's how I did mine using the same logic as you that it was probably worth it anyway. I think the grub screws were an m4 on the ones I had.
