Should the MT bikes be added to the fold ?
« on: 01 June 2014, 06:20:14 pm »
Just that really

I think the Fazer brand is likely to completely disappear altogether soon with the success of the MT07/09
So to keep a vibrant forum with new incoming members on new bikes should we consider it ?

Or should it stay as is and become a "classic forum" ?

personally if funds allowed I would be looking at a MT09 as a 2nd bike will be watching the prices next year closely
Its just a ride

They are kinda fazerish in character arent they

Its like what the fazer should have evolved into....except they ignored all brand or model loyalty....all they had to do was call it a fazer & we'd be happy....& everyone knows that the fazer is well respected.

Oh well they didnt.....so yep i agree that they are fazers really...deep down.....but still MT's......i would suggest all MT owners buy some fazer badges until yamaha catches on but i dont think that will happen.

Maybe a "friends of fazer" section or "foc-.co.uk"  twinned with "MT" section......but when the MT forums kick off then thats where folk will go except they will have a "i used to own a fazer section" perhaps.

A bit sad really. :(

Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

Yeah, I think MTs will end up with their own forums - they're not the same bike at all in my view. All Fazers have IL4 engines for one thing. They all make pretty good all-rounders, perhaps hence their popularity. Personally, it doesn't bother me if this forum becomes a "classic bike" forum when Fazers are no longer made in any guise. Plenty of enthusiastic and busy classic model forums out there.

I think the only prerequisite for being on this forum ought to be that you've owned a Fazer at some point. I don't think it matters whether or not you own one right now - many friendships have obviously been forged here, and I think it would be a shame to ask those who sell their Fazer to go elsewhere. At least that way, you know what the Fazer attraction is about  :)

yes , good question, would make more sense if the forum was dieing,,but maybe it would stop it dieing in the future, who knows.

Mt09   and FZ1 naked,,,,similar bikes,,same sort of desire to ride either,,,

What would be the downside????? eh   probably none..

But to invite the owners the site would have to change its name  =Focmut or like :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

why the MT 09...because its a Yamaha ??

sorry ...fazer forum is for fazers.IMO apart from in general forum, what exactly is the advantage for a fazer owner of having tech stuff about an MT 09 ??

might as well be  a blooming Harley or a ducati for the good it will do... :lol

Spoilsport :nana

You're right though, a Fazer forum is for Fazer peeps. If you keep adding bikes it'll become a general biking forum and god knows who we'll end up with :lol

There used to be calls for the XJ6 to be added to the club, nowadays it's the MTs and in future who knows. The Fazer 600 will be a classic and they're still making FZ1 Fazers and Fazer8s, so who needs those outsiders - vote FOC-IP!!
