Which Pads?
« on: 04 September 2012, 12:31:35 pm »
So no doubt this has been discussed before, I'm in need of some new front pads, so which do i go for, I don't do track days and only cover about 3000 mile per year for enjoyment, and try to avoid wet weather riding where possible.
So what pads do I get, GG, HH , sintered?? goldfren, EBC, Kyoto, Galfer, Ferodo ? to many to choose from, surely they all have to meet a standard?
All opinions welcomed. :lol
Cheers

I'm using ceramic SBS pads on the front and organic EBC on the rear, very happy with both but I also replaced my brake fluid and upgraded to stainless steel lines at the same time... The existing sets were all mis-matched which was confusing and worrying :s

Edit: Picked up all the sets from eBay and paid about £15 a set? (so £45~ all in incl delivery)

SBS street Excel or EBC HH are the two types most favoured by 1000 owners, and since the calipers are the same they should also be your best aftermarket options

Always used EBC HH, works well apart from the rain where you have to put a bit more pressure on the lever. Tried Carbon Lorraine once, excellent all round but wore very fast I thought.
