HEL Braided Hoses Discount
« on: 16 July 2013, 05:10:34 pm »
In a  (possibly 25%) discount off HEL braided brake hoses and their other parts?

Very good quality hoses, usually about £90 for the set front and rear, stainless lines with importantly, stainless banjos (lot of other places use coating).
I'm a member of another forum which gets a discount off them, will be ringing up tomorrow to order a set of hoses, and thought I'd see if I could negotiate a discount on behalf of this forum too? THere's certainly enough of us to make it worth their while if everyone who wanted hoses went to them!

EDIT: Right guys, rang up HEL and they said that they'd be more than happy to offer a 25% discount for their hoses and all other parts for us, so if anyone wants brake hoses, or any other braking related parts that they do, then give them a ring direct on +44 (0)1392 811 601, let them know that you're a member of the Fazer Owners Club forum, and then order your bits, and you'll get the discount!

Ye, I'm interested. I've been thinking about ordering a 2 line set for the front of my fzs600 2002 for a while. Already got a hel line on the back and it's great, really nice quality.

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

I'd be interested but I've never bled brakes before  :\
Opinions are like A**holes, Everyone has one.  Some people seem to have more than one though which is a bit odd.

Don't worry its really easy to do :) Just need to be patient

I've done this on both my Fazers without trouble and several cars - the easiest was by far my friends Mitsubishi FTO, bled each corner (from an empty system) and bam solid brakes, no need to go back and try to get air bubbles out :D

That's great news JoeRock  8)

HEL product codes
FZS600 98 - 03   3 line front code = HBF9118
             "     "     2 line front code = HBF9119

FZS1000 01 - 05 3 line front code = HBF9114
               "     "   2 line front code = HBF9115

Haven't found out what the code is for the rear lines yet

It's the setup on the front brake,
2 lines is 2 brake lines direct to caliper from the reservoir
3 lines is a single line out of the reservoir that gets split into 2 before the calipers, this is the original setup

I've got a 2line system, as far as i know it doesn't make a difference

can the 2 line system be fitted to the OEM reservoir then, or do you need to modify it somehow?

I believe 2 line is supposed by some to be more effective, but I've had both set-ups in the past, and can't say I noticed any difference. Maybe it's more noticeable at extremes, ie racing? However, the 2-line set-up is usually a bit cheaper, as less fittings required.
No modification needed, you're just bypassing the 3-way junction. The supplier will include the correct banjo bolt (longer, 2-hole) and washers when you order the kit.

I don't know about this kit for certain but mine was a straight swap.

Yeah you're probably right Nick, explains why I saw it called a race setup while I was looking. Good point about the fittings though, less points in the line to leak/fail

2 line kit could be easier to bleed too  ;)

Great work Joe, I'll be putting in an order in the next few days =) a 2 line kit for the front should be £45 instead of £60 now  8)  nice!

Haven't found out what the code is for the rear lines yet

Rear lines don't have a code, but the first option on all front lines is 'Add Rear Line', which gives the options Yes Please (+£30.00), No Thanks or Rear Line Only (reduces price to £29.99)

Well done Joe. I already have a 2 line Hel set up on the front. You just need to fit the correct banjo bolt, which Hel are Lilley to supply you with.
Not quite sure what to do with my early mid-life crisis. Ideas on a post card to P.O.BOX 150...
