Just got me a thou shock for an upgrade - I,ve seen the previous threads - any thing to watch out for from those who have done the upgrade?

hey ponk, I was after doing this upgrade aswell, what thou is the shock from? do you need any other parts to fit that shock on?

Its an FZS 1000 shock - will be swapping the spring for the 600 one and tickling the mount and preload ring with a grinder as per the previous thread - with a bit of luck should be an improvement - standard shock not really up to the challenge presented by my " slender" frame!

After swapping the spring. bolt up the shock . set the pre load with your weight on the bike ,then look at the adgusting ring where it is nearest the overflow tank. this will tell you were you need to grind the ring. I moved the overflow tank slightly . this will be obvious wheen you offer it up.Do this with the shock removed as its fiddly. Set rebound knob to max , and then experiment with the compression adgust screw. pm me if you want more, I've still not got round to trying the r6 shock on my 600 yet .
