I get the impression that simply isn't the direction Yamaha want to go, I think they are looking at fully embracing this triple engine of theirs.

I never bonded that well with the FZ1, hence why I sold it :/

Interested in the new BMW super naked

I bought the boots 3 years ago from Aldi and they are fantastic, they have lasted me riding pretty much all year in most conditions and are actually waterproof as well. 3 years on with little care they look pretty much the same as when I bought them

I put the acf50 in a small perfume type bottle then leave the container in boiled water for about 5 minutes then it comes out like a very fine mist

Cover entire bike with it very easily and looks fantastic - no rags required

Reasonably sure that's a Black series or a Brabus - no way a AMG would pull away at 185mph like that even de-restricted (end of video)

Lush car!

I really like that colour - is that Ford Focus ST Orange?

Most boring bike I have ridden was an FJR1300 - bored me to tears - comfy etc... But no spark when riding it.

Seeing above posters - I rode a Vespa 125 in Tuscany and absolutely loved it! Haha I am seriously considering getting one as well as my FZ1!

General / Re: When did you pass your test and how difficult was it?
« on: 27 August 2013, 12:06:19 pm »
Did mine February 2008 - was just before they split the test into offroad and onroad - passed first time with 3 minors for observation. Wasn't too difficult but was already driving so had some road sense I guess.

Was straight onto back of my mates bike to go pick up my FZS600 :) best feeling ever

That's cool to know - think I found a post on the FZ1 forum which states they both fit all models.

Currently running air filter and end can only - gonna do the Lars mod eventually, Ivan flies and gut the cat, so at some point will need either PC or JB

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / PC3 or 5?
« on: 25 August 2013, 04:32:21 pm »
Does anyone know why the power commander 3 is suitable for the 06 - 08 bikes and 5 for 09 onwards? I have a 08

Surely the FZ1 is the same 06-13? Would a PC5 fit my bike anyway?

If they were T30's - then they are the tyre I am getting next no question, Knee down, insane speed through corners and chucking it left to right through some of the corners. Amazing grip

I didn't know Boris was there lol but probably saw him when we swapped over when he got back from ride or I did if on same bike - small world indeed!

They were road legal bridgestones - didn't catch what particular tyre though - think S20's?

Yeah I know that - Hence last comment :) it does show that modern tyres are amazing things though

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Ron Haslam Track Day
« on: 22 August 2013, 05:05:46 pm »
Did the Ron Haslam Track Day yesterday and I absolutely loved it - was my first experience on a track and the instructors were ace - it's a bit pricey but would recommend it if for no other reason as a nice new CBR600RR which isn't yours and not your gear either (relaxes you a bit!)

By the end managed to get my knee down and got body positioning perfect - never experienced such a thrill getting the apex spot on for every corner on one of my laps - that bike was a beast in 2nd and 3rd gear when hammering it

Loved it!

No knee down in that pic as was on 2nd ride out so was practicing body positing - would love a sports bike but only for the track I feel - no way could ride like this and live on road

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Foccing Punctures
« on: 13 August 2013, 12:09:39 pm »
I had Puncturesafe in my old FZS600, I had a big sharp stone pierce the tyre but not overly bad - I didn't even notice till I checked my tyre and found a pink-ish slime where the hole was, the tyre was fine for another 4000 miles - really good.

I now have Crafty Plugger and haven't had to use it yet. I would use Puncturesafe again though if I could be bothered to buy it / put it in my tyres hehe

I have been riding for 5 years and have racked up around 60,000 miles in total (would be more but don't ride my FZ1 nearly as much as I rode my 600 - don't commute by bike anymore) and I only ever had the one mentioned above and 1 nail which I picked up 2 weeks after passing my test.

Don't know if I am lucky or what, but doesn't seem that normal to have them lots.

Someone mentioned on the old forum a fix where you take out the spark plugs, put in first gear and roll it backwards

Apparently this can reset the can chain tensioner and stop the noise

For free not bad for a try and easy to do

« on: 09 August 2013, 09:54:15 pm »
The boxeye headlights are atrocious unfortunately - I tried a whole manner of bulbs and in the end just fitted HID's which made them nearly as good as a standard foxeye lol

Mine did this exact same thing - as above take it off and tighten and fixes it - will happen again though ><

I thought he was a bit of a twat before he even got to the Lorries, he starting swearing just before that which implies he couldn't stop?? what are his brakes made of? cheese??

« on: 07 August 2013, 08:28:57 am »
I was looking at someones Fazer 8 next to my Fazer 1 at the weston bike night and the 8 seat looks a little bit different to mine, I don’t know for definite but I am fairly sure its more narrow? If you live anywhere near Weston Super Mare you are welcome to see if mine fits before making a purchase

lol, since getting rid of my FZS600 and getting a FZ1 I forgot how much underseat storage space the FZS600 has...

just saw the above pictures and wept a little! (I can barely fit a disc lock under my seat)

FZ6 / Fazer / Re: Installing Power Commander III on an FZ6
« on: 07 August 2013, 08:19:44 am »
I am interested in your experiences with the PC3 :) I have a FZ1 rather than an FZ6 and am seriously considering getting one.

I didn't realise you could get maps for fuel efficiency? that is something I am very interested... probably for very obvious reasons hehe

Yeah I have a low mileage 08 ABS with Scorpion End can and K&N as well, I have never needed to touch the throttle cold, hot or anything in between, the bike just sorts itself out (which is nice coming from a FZS600 Carb'ed bike)

I think there is something amiss, I don't have a power commander either with the above 2 mods (still have Cat in situ and no other airflow mods, I am hoping to get a PC3 soon and do some more modding  :D )
