Front caliper bolts
« on: 05 June 2017, 04:26:01 pm »
Have today replaced fork seals and oil and when putting the left hand caliper back i realized the thread on the lower mounting bolt was stripped. Can anyone tell me what size Helicoil kit i need? cant tell if its M6 or M8. anyone?

According to this (read carefully) the actual bolts are M10.

Check the pitch of the thread though - some Japanese M10 are a finer pitch than standard M10 coarse.

most caliper bolts are fine pitch as they dont tend to loosen of as easy

The front calipers are off my bike at the moment. Just measured one of the bolts - M10 x 1.25
