"Set of Bulbs" for Euro trip
« on: 04 July 2016, 12:06:08 pm »
According to the guides I've read I need to take some with me...anyone got a link to some cheapo standard headlight and indicator ones for my Foxeye??

I've searched on here but there's too much Nightbreaker/H1/H4 chat, all I care about is keeping the Gendarmes happy!

Cheers, dudes!

just pick up the cheapest set they sell in Halfords. Gendarmes wont car if the wrong bulb is in it. If you really want to keep them happy though, get a set with an H1 bulb in it if you haven't done the dual headlight mod or an H4 if you have. That way you will have a dipped headlight bulb with you to change it if needed.

BTW, before anyone jumps up and down, my thinking is, if both dipped bulbs fail, you can replace just the H4 and get one back on.

Ta, but I thought only the Boxeye needed the dual Headlight mod..the foxeye's lights are pretty good.

2 of the cheapest H4s then I guess and a couple of the small ones for the sidelights..

EDIT - actually will this kit do?

The kit will be fine it has every option covered.

You will need a hi viz vest for both rider and passenger if you are carrying one, not to wear but in the event of a breakdown.

As far as I know you do not need to carry a breathayzer as there is no fine for not carrying one, but they are generally for sale on the ferry if you feel the need.

Best to have a bit tape on the lights to stop the high deflection to the left, they never check if it is right as long as you have something on it that looks right  :lol

Perfect, thanks...I'll dig out the scotch tape!  I'd forgotten about the Hi-Viz, I'll see if the lads in the loading bay have got a few spare.

Tour de France here I come!

Nothing to do with bulbs...BUT make sure you have correct plug spanner in tool kit under seat. Also a small roll of gaffer tape can deal with many "situations" Enjoy your trip! :lol

In theory you need reflective stickers on your helmet. In practice, the flics have plenty of more interesting things to do, so you'll never get done for it unless you really piss them off in some other way and they're looking for a laundry list of charges.

Cheers, lads...I got the stickers/breathalysers/puncture kit/high viz vest already.  Now to find some room for the missus' make-up and shoes.

Gaffer tape - Good idea, if only to stop her twittering on the BT headset!
Plug spanner - Checked and it's the right one...ta

Can't wait to go...I'll be catching 2 stages of the Tour de France down near Chamnonix in about 2 weeks.
