FZS600 Fazer / Buzzing footpegs?
« on: 23 May 2015, 03:59:50 pm »
The guy whom I bought the bike from has these tiny little drilled foot pegs front and rear.  No rubber on them at all.  Once I hit about 5-6k on the tach the vibrations in the pegs become obnoxious.  Will swapping them out for the OEM type pegs with rubber dampen this at all?  If so - how tricky is it to replace them?  Thanks.

FZS600 Fazer / £150 for a "service"???
« on: 10 May 2015, 02:55:09 pm »
Took the 1999 in for a "service" at the local bike shop and also asked about checking the choke (had to run it with choke 1/2 on or it would cut off at stoplights).  Was told they would change oil & filter, lube, and adjust brake calibers, etc.  I came back to find a £150 bar tab waiting on me.  Seems like thats 3 x's higher than I anticipated.  Oil was routine shop grade and the filter was as well.  Claimed 90 minutes worth of work on the bike to do all that.  Nothing done to adjust choke issue that I can tell.  Was informed that I need new carb rubbers for an additional 225 installed.  I said no thanks and rolled on down the road.  Did I just totally get reamed or is that about right for a "service"?

FZS600 Fazer / Tank bag suggestion
« on: 08 May 2015, 08:54:46 pm »
Any recommendations for a decent tank bag?  There are SO many options out there - just love to get a sense of what works well on the Fazer.  Thanks guys & gals.

FZS600 Fazer / Fuel tank hoses
« on: 26 April 2015, 06:13:45 pm »
Was looking under the fuel tank today and was curious if any one can guide me on the two extra hoses that come off the underside of the tank.  They seem to be a drain hose and maybe a breather hose but Im not certain?!?  When I gently hinged the tank back the tubes slid up and I was not sure how they connect on the far end.  If they are breather and drain then I suppose they are positioned to simply ride open ended and allow air / drainage to occur?  Just want to be sure I have them back in the proper position.  Thanks :)

FZS600 Fazer / Newbie question - :)
« on: 15 April 2015, 05:24:23 pm »
Proud new owner of a 1999 model and have been on 3-4 rides so far.  As I was warming up the bike today I noticed a slight amount of smoke from directly under the engine and crawled around to find the cause.  Seemed like there was enough greasy gunk built up around the kick stand area that once the engine heated up that gunk started to melt a bit and smoke.  So my question is can I use a degreaser in that area and clean things up to eliminate that lil problem?  Sorry for the simple question and I apologize if it's already been covered in here elsewhere.  Thanks so much.
