Hi all, Going to IOM over the bank holiday weekend for the classic TT. Going in the car as taking the Mrs and my Father-in-law who is 70 (His birthday present if you are wondering) so no Fazer action But anyway, as an IOM virgin are there any sights I must take in on my few days there? I intend to do the obvious things like Creg ny Baa, Bray hill, Kates cottage, Joey Dunlop statue etc. but any other nuggets I must put on the list? Please keep in mind the Mrs old man is 70.. so walking miles is off the cards. Thanks, Fuzz

Guys, Bit of a random one this but bare with me...
Me and some mates going to watch Nurburgring 24 hour race in May. Originally we had intended to take My Subaru Impreza WRX wagon and my mate take his 911 Carrera. we then realised there would not be enough space for 5 adults and luggage, so another mate suggested taking his big Merc estate in place of my Impreza.
This was the plan until we saw Top Gear tonight and we thought what could we get for peanuts to make the trip more of a laugh? Just a bit of fun so want to keep it cheap. £500 area. I think it needs to be British... Obvious choice is an old Jag. loads around and cheap enough but that is the problem! it really is the obvious choice. Can anyone think of anything British that will be cheap to purchase etc. other than Rovers and Jags?
cheers,

Hi all, Been looking at these mirror extenders available. http://www.motorcycle-road-and-race.co.uk/mirror-extensions-sw-motech-yamaha-fzs-1000-fazer-01-05Anyone got them? are they any good? Price is a tad steep for a couple of bits of metal and I guess some longer bolts?! are they worth it or any other cheaper options available? want some options as I can mainly see my elbows while on the bike.... I have seen the mod to reverse mirror on the pivot point of the bracket but I would rather keep them standard if I can help it. cheers,

Hi all,
I was never too happy with the fzs1000 brakes. as such I fitted braided HEL lines and EBC HH pads.. Much improved. Few months ago went touring with my mate, did about 1200 miles all was well.
Since then when I ride the bike it feels like the lever needs more effort than it used to?! Still seems to stop ok and both discs get warm/hot. Taken pads out and squeezed lever all pistons move in and out freely. Lever feels nice and firm just don't have confidence in it.
Starting to think maybe the master cylinder needs looking at?
thoughts?

Hi guys, Some mates and I often go to this and camp over night as a cheap 'lads' weekend away. Ticket price is usually £10 and £5 camping but this year the need to buy a ticket looks to have been dropped?!?! Slightly annoying as 6 of us have already paid for our ticket (trying to get money back) we would have been going either way. http://www.snetterton.co.uk/calendar/2014/august/britcar.aspxSo thought I would share the love and pass the info on. Will be in the car due to carrying camping gear and more importantly the beer so no bike for me this weekend. So if you are in the area and want to see some free racing may as well drop by. cheers, Fuzz

Hi all,
Have a bit of an odd one. bike has developed an odd ticking noise when starting from cold.
I did a tour of Yorkshire moors back in May, came home and gave the bike a full clean down. Let engine run for 10-15 mins to get it warm and get rid of any sitting water. When I came to use the bike again about a week later noticed the ticking from cold start. 1st thought was cam chain tensioner. put my ear to it and noise does not seem to be emanating from there.. As was overdue I did oil change last week with yamalube and genuine filter. Still ticking noise present.
If anything sounds as though coming further back nearer the gearbox!? But all gears go up and down perfectly and clutch also works perfectly. (clutch in or out does not affect noise)
Exup was removed, cleaned and greased with copper slip and adjusted before doing my 800 mile tour so fairly sure it isn't that. (will check it over just to be sure)
Once engine is warm sound goes away.. and if I turn off and then restart bike with engine warm still no noise, truly does seem to be a cold start issue. General running of bike is perfect as always. no hesitation and pulls just as hard as always has.
51 plate with 9.5k on the clock (bought 3 years ago and I have put 4.5k on it)
any suggestions welcomed as always. thanks, Rob

Just seen the link to the up coming GSR1000 on MCN http://www.motorcyclenews.com/mcn/news/newsresults/new-bikes/2014/july/naked-suzuki-gsr1000-incoming/Got me thinking about the fazer.. the FZ1 is getting a bit long in the tooth now (2006) Needs to be updated. Yes I know they brought out the FZ8 and yeah the MT-09 is a fun sporty naked but this is not a replacement for the FZ1 or the FZS1000 in my eyes... The general trend in most super nakeds is to take a sports bike motor and re-tune for more useable power. on that basis I would really welcome a new Fazer with a crossplane crank engine.. I love the sound of the R1 but being the wrong side of 17 stone is not the bike for me. If they did a new Fazer 1000 with the comfort of the Gen1 and the R1 crossplane engine re-tuned to 150-160bhp I would be throwing my money at Yamaha dealers lol. thoughts?

Currently have a Bridgstone BT 023 on the rear of my thou and will need to be replaced soon. I had intended to get a Bridgstone T30 put on in the next few weeks but recently been hearing about this new Pirelli Angel GT tyre. Just wondered if it was worth a go? Is much different to the T30?
Or any other tyre I should consider? I only tend to go out for evening and weekend blasts. Hardly ever commute and tour once or twice a year so bike is more a toy so prefer a sporty tyre over a long lasting tyre.
thanks,

Hi all,
Recently purchased this but just not for me. It looks like a good quality cover and has no rips or tears etc. Looking to get back what I paid £60 if possible. I put it next to the standard seat as a comparison (standard seat not for sale)
Would rather collection due to size and weight but I can stick in a backpack or in the car and meet if no too far. Or at buyers cost can post but I would guess it has to be around £10 or so for postage.
Many thanks, Fuzz

Hi all, I have been enquiring with Christian about his Multi-gauge's. He has advised he does not currently have any stock but will have some by end of June. It then occurred to me.. has anyone asked him about a group buy and if he can supply any discount on the units or even shipping?
I guess ideally it only really works if we can then coordinate getting them to individials when delivered to blighty.
Any thoughts on this or is it even worth my while asking him?
thanks, Fuzz

Right me requirements are a bit specific I have a Garmin Zumo 220 satnav. I want to be able to hear directions via bluetooth and have some form of music. Unfortunately the Zumo 220 does not support this feature. What I require then (if it exists) Is directions from satnav and means to connect MP3 player, phone or have a built-in FM radio. ALSO I do not want to use them shocking speaker pad things that come with most headsets. I would rather use my in-ear headphones thus cutting out any wind noise etc. I got a scala rider bluetooth thing with the zumo and its crap. cannot hear it at speed and the pads dig into your ears. Only means I have at present is an old Nokia bluetooth headset that I have linked up to the satnav and can hear directions via my in-ear headphones. Just missing the music element. If you just want to use 1 device the below item is awesome.. Music or satnav directions. Yeah I know I want the moon on a stick

Hi all, my Mrs has just bought me new Givi arms and rack for my birthday. As such my Yam oem rack is no longer required. 1 or 2 marks but still very clean and in good nic. all mounts and bolts included. I have seen these go for silly money on eBay recently so looking for £40 on its own or £50 with the Givi universal Monolock mount attached.
I would rather collection if possible but will sort out delivery if wanted at buyer cost. I use My Hermes and think it will be roughly £5 to post. (will find out) If you collect would even be happy to fit it or let you fit it if you wanted.... I am happy to travel a bit for a ride out within reason. (also going on a little tour in May doing Whitehaven to Whitby so could meet on way if able to)
thanks, Fuzz

Hi guys. PLEASE don't burn me down in flames or ban me etc. Spotted my local Cafe is having a Suzuki try it open day thingy. Sunday may 11th http://www.supersausagecafe.co.uk/suzuki-taster-days/Potterspury (near Milton Keynes) Super sausage is rather close to me so I plan to go along for a crack. (excuse for a meet up and show them proper bikes? lol) Also John Reynolds will be there!! That is reason enough for me tbh. thanks, Fuzz

Hi all,
I currently have a Gen1 with 8k on the clock with following upgrades. Ivans kit, braided lines front and rear, EBC HH Pads, pipercross air filter, blueflame end can, Hyperpro springs in forks and on shock. Just passed MOT with no advisories Bike is in mint condition. I enjoy riding it a great deal bought it with 5k on the clock 2 years ago and done 3k since. goes well, handles well and I enjoy every factor of it. BUT I fancy something a bit newer for some reason?!
My issue is does the extra cash I will spend warrant the change? My other issue is that I am 6'3 and 17 stone and change so thinking will the gen2 be too firm for me? I always wanted an R1 but due to my size I have avoided one after sitting on one a few years back. Just looking for a compromise I guess.
Any thoughts welcomed

Hi all, Another garage clear out. On both of these I would prefer collection but can arrange delivery if postage charges paid. Have some OEM front indicators with the plastic mounting plate thing. They are in fairly good condition. no cracks on lens's. Right 1 has a small scuff but this is on the bottom and not visible when fitted. I have seen these on eBay for £15 each!! Does £20 for the pair sound fair? These are from a 51 plate FZS1000 But think Yamaha fitted them to pretty much everything at the time? TAILPACK NOW SOLD 2nd is an Oxford first time tailpack. it is 28 litres and goes to 36 when extended. comes with all the bungees and the cards to change the colour of the pockets to suite your bike colour. The base also unzips from the main bag turning into a backpack and even a small compartment left on the base on the bike. Really good bit of kit, Only used once and I was really impressed with it. The only reason I am selling is because I now have a topbox so is no longer required. Again ideally looking for £20 but willing to discuss.
