Hi Mickey
I was trying to make you all think the fazer had gone, but I'm sure Luke rumbled me  :lol
No unless a major mishap, there's always a space in the shed for the old gal(fazer that is) :)
I've owned my fazer from new and just ain't got time to look after two bikes. A wallet check seemed more sense.

Nice one. I'd love a Gixxer but if I could only have one bike it would be a Fazer 1000

Same for me Mickey.
Gixxer a awesome bike, but not really happy unless above 60 mph, too much weight on the wrists. I think I would got a ban eventually, and I'm a sensible rider. Track day tool really.
The fazer on the other hand is just so good all round. When i jumped off the gixxer onto the fazer, i managed a relaxed manic free ride. Well was a bit naughty :lol

Before my FZS I had a 929 Blade and I spent an afternoon riding around the north circular in th peeing rain and solid traffic.  So heavy I couldn't filter. After a few hours I stopped to rest at a bike shop and put an offer on the bike I have now. I've never looked back.  My old Blade felt tge most comfortable at a ton+. Sooner or later I was going to get a ban, if I was lucky :'(

after a year on the GS the fazer feels like a head down sportsbike to me now !  :lol

its all relative I think. The GS is a bike you can just potter about on, the fazer always wants to rev more, feels totally underused at 60, and to me is far harder to ride with any sort of restraint.
I still think the best bike I have owned for UK road riding is my 1050 speedtriple. That engine is perfect for the real speeds you can achieve here.So torquey and always feels good to ride at whatever speed you want.  :)
which kinda make sme wonder just what the tiger sport might be like ???

About the only thing I miss about the gixxer is that induction howl, from the airbox under the tank :'( The handling was amazing too, almost telepathic. On the fazer you have to plan your cornering more, but that to me is a good thing as it stops you hairing into bends. Digital Speedo good as well as the fazer clocks harder to watch.

Always fancied a speed trip myself Jon but lack of a fairing on the new ones puts me off.
The fazer front cowl does help a bit, just a bit of a pain on windy days, but I couldn't put up with a naked and fly screen.

OH made a nice comment recently, in our garage we have my Fazer thou, a FJR1300 and a K5 Gixxer thou, he recons if the garage was on fire and he only had time to get one bike out it would have to be my Fazer  :D  Just because it ticks all the boxes!

He would then cry....ALOT  :'(
