Title: R6 throttle tube on FZ8
Post by: Slydermac on 06 December 2015, 05:14:20 am
Hi guys
I've recently seen a few vlogs from FZ8 owners stateside who have fitted R6 throttle tubes to their FZ8's and they say it transforms the bike with much greater throttle response and better power delivery characteristics..... was just wondering if anyone here has tried it or has thoughts on the matter?
Cheers.

The R6 throttle tube has less radial movement for the same full throttle range so it is more responsive and takes out any slack in the throttle cables ...

You can have my tube for nowt if you want to go down this route ...

cheers

Hi, and thanks again for the info.
So basically it is just a bit more responsive?   ... that sounds like a good thing to me. Not sure how it would fit in with my heated grips though. I appreciate the offer pal so let me check if that will work and I'll get back to you.  :)

It doesn't affect fueling at all mate - you'll just get to fully open with less twist needed.

Heated grips wise - really thin flat head screwdriver between the grip and the existing tube, spray some wd40 (or similar) in and do it all the way round. It'll come off nice and easily assuming you didn't absolutely coat the thing in superglue putting them on!
