Did you use known branded bearing like NTN Koyyo Fag or SKF with C3 clearance not Chinese cheapos. The C3 clearance is improtant C1, C2 or CN would be to tight a clearance for most wheels.
You could have pushed the bearings in to tight as it is possible on the front wheel of the 600 to have the bearing to tight. It is best to push in the right side fully in first and then the left side until is just touches the spacer. I discovered this when changing the bearing about 15 years ago. When tapping the bearing in the minute the sound changes stop. Check the spacer can be moved side to side not easily but it should move..
