Best results me and my wife have had (she rides her own bike), textile suit for cold / damp weather. As soon as it rains two piece Alpinestars over suit which takes only a minute or two to put on. We've survived many a down pour with only mild dampness.

Boots...... NEVER found fully waterproof ones, ranging from £50 to £220. Gloves........forget it.

In all my years of riding, and having used budget to mid-range clothing, we've never found anything that is totally waterproof.  ;)

Agree, LD Lines are always cheaper than Brittany so I generally use LD Lines. Just thought the discount code is there if anyone wants to use it, which I'm glad to see someone has.  :D

Unfortunately LD Lines don't go Plymouth / Brittany or UK / Spain ( but they do go France / Spain ).  ;)

Why is this useful information not in the general section? Us little people with measly 600's can still go to touring  abroad you know  ;) .
Thanks all the same.  :)

Sorry..........I was looking to put it in the 'Travel' section, but there isn't one.  :lol

It was okay. Not very busy so plenty of time to sit on the bikes. I did part with some cash for new leathers at a good price, but £19 entrance and £10 to park the car........a bit steep.
Would I recommend going? It's nice to have so many different bikes in one place to look at, and sit on. However, I travelled 200 miles round trip, don't think I'll both doing it again ( having been a regular attender for a number of years). Food expensive and not particularly good, so take you own. Deal's to be had if you're looking for new kit and prepared to do some bartering.
Only my opinion, my mate, who hadn't been for a number of years had a higher opinion of it than I did. So, it's a case of 'pay your money and take your chance'.  ;)

Isn't it funny that the bike you are selling will always have a bigger depreciation issue than the one you want to buy.  Or at least it seems that way.  I used to change my bikes every three years or so but have had my Gen 1 Fazer for around six years.  It's a 2005 bike that was nine months old when I got it.  I paid £5,500 for it and I guess that in a private sale it's now woth around £3,500.  Two grand in six years is more than acceptable to me.  At the moment I am looking for a BMW1200RT to add to my garage and the depreciation on those seems very slow.  A two-year old in dealers is only around £1500 less than a new one.
I'm trying to change my Gen 1. My 2005 is in great condition and dealers are only offering £2250 ( that was against a new BMW or Honda!! ), and that's with all my luggage, colour match hugger/belly pan etc. Private you may get £2500 to £2750 if you're lucky, but as time goes by the price drops. I've been to 8 dealerships now and they all give more or less the same offer.  ;)

I've now got my eye on another bike, the dealer has offered me £2250 against the replacement. If anyone is interested in offering me near that then I'm interested and the sale will include all the extra's except my Garmin satnav mount.  ;)

Dont know the "value" of your current bike BUT there was an identical standard blue FZS 1000 on "05" plate in my local dealer yesterday with 28000 miles asking price £3995. Dont think they will sell it @ this price as I have seen better bikes for less on this forum & ebay etc. Fazer is a remarkably good all rounder :lol -just clean properly & apply ACF 50 before winter riding.
I was just about the say the same thing in regards his Pegaso. The 2003 with ist 13k on the clock is worth about £2000-2500 if its in vgood cond and there and NO mechanical gremlins.

And yeah that 2005 w/28k isnt worth £4k, more like £3k.

A dealer will only offer you £2000 to £2250 for the Fazer against a new bike.........I know I've been around several dealers with mine.  ;)

You are right about the miles putting some people off, even though it's been extremely well looked after........even if I do say myself.  :)
One of the dealers had a really rough looking 03 model in the showroom. 6500 miles............and they must have been hard miles looking at it's condition, or left outside to rust.........standard bike but still on sale for £3500!!

Worst £2000, best £2250..............and they wanted ALL the luggage and other extra's as well!
Got offered the higher amount against a new BMW F800ST Touring. Some months back a Honda dealer did offer me £2500 ( to include all my extra's) against a new CBF1000F with a GT pack, which came to more than £10K! :eek

Found 5 dealers who say it's too higher milage for them, 2 others made me laugh at the offer they made. I want a change, but I'm not going to give her away to a dealer!
I'll just wait to see if someone comes up with a reasonable offer, if not, then I'll be keeping her. ;)
