FZS600 Fazer / knocking through foot peg??« on: 26 July 2015, 10:00:53 am »
hi all
went for a ride to south wales yesterday on the way back..at Bristol she developed a slight vibration then a knock on which was coming through the foot pegs...at that point I pull in when coming to a stop there was a squeak coming from one of the wheels..well that's where I thought it was coming from almost like a dry bearing and the knock could be a missing ball bearing????? so set off doing 60mph towards Exeter...get to Exeter on the slip road change down to 1st...pull off and it then sounded like the chain was rubbing on the sprocket as I was going through the gears so then thought it must be the front sprocket coming undone...got here home took the front sprocket cover off nothing hasn't moved no sign of movement..so I got back on went around the block with no helmet on and the squeak and what sounds like crunching was still there so I have taken the rear wheel off late last night... going to check bearings...but don't think its going to be that simple???? could it be behind the front sprocket don't know whats in there yet...but would think it involves all the gearing release bearings and things like that.....I hope I don't have to go in there.... the squeak is like a dry bearing noise.... oh and I snapped a bolt yippy 31
FZS600 Fazer / Re: tail pipe/BHP?« on: 23 July 2015, 09:17:03 pm »
I think the critical part for speed and restriction is the tail pipe...am I not right??????
or the ports of the head where it meets the head of the exhaust??...like when I had a TZR where you could adjust the amount of air coming out of the engine?? or fit a power valve to open it at the right time of revs and add racing reeds so I think it has a lot more to do with the silencer on the fzs like what paulfzs said I have seen inside the standard pipe or seen whats coming out of it every time I shake it...lol....sounds like there is a tin of dried peas in there now my question is what other mods can you do to add more BHP to these lovely girls...can you do remaps and shits and giggles like that I say that because I had a run in on the way home from BMAD with a mt7 and he could not get past me when I had the tail pipe on ......(more then likely got scared of the sound of it.. )...but honest he struggled MORE BHP im a granddad as of today so need to hurry up... 32

hi all
I had a tube tech 2TR on my girl for a couple of weeks..NICE sound and all that..no db killer in and no baffle all the time it was in I thought I was just kidding myself that it had given me some more bhp with out doing any other adjustments....(sounded louder so I thought it was going faster right??) but now I have put the standard tail pipe back on IT FEELS LIKE SOME ONE IS STRANGLING MY GIRL...just about where all four pipes meet.. and to be honest almost like all the gasses are going to POP out the head .....it just feels and sounds so restricted and honestly feels like its lost a bit of grunt......is it just me 33

hi freck
yeah prob warped although it was only put on last mot(sept 14) yeah I know doesn't mean it cant warp and the last owner has had the wheels off front and back and had them re sprayed so now im wondering if he hasn't bent the spindle by over tightening like he has the disc bolts??? and or crushed the swing arm in a little the washer looks to be a bit concave to me... yeah ive got all manuals and books but cant find it....lol....that is a big ride out 36
FZS600 Fazer / rear disc mount bolt« on: 13 July 2015, 04:28:39 pm »
ive just got round to addressing the annoying rubbing I have in one spot on the rear disc
and noticed that one of the mounting bolts just spins when at the bite point....so that might be the reason why there is a slight rub on the rear brake pads??? its an Armstrong wavy disk....but want to change back to a more standard round disk so what im asking is will this one bolt realy matter and can I just lock tight it up or shall I just get a new/second hand rear wheel????? or is it worth getting the thread done on the wheel I already have???? oh and does anyone know the torque on the rear torque arm bolts?? 37

can I get the SP with the link pipe and can hanger as a package?
and can you get the rear foot rest down with the SP can to get this can lined up right ..it wont allow the rear peg to come down..i have to have the slice a bit squiffy and my OCD wont allow me to leave it. and I have no link pipes from 1-2...3-4 they just come together under the sump then go into one couldn't I just hammer a dent in it where it wants to catch?? anyone else have the exhaust mount on the outside (bottom one) 43
FZS600 Fazer / Re: what can is this?????please« on: 01 July 2015, 11:16:14 pm »

FZS600 Fazer / Re: what can is this?????please« on: 01 July 2015, 10:54:50 pm »
not the stand rubber....the front part of the stand where it hinges hits the exhaust when you
try and bring it down..it comes down 1 inch then hits the pipe???? 45
FZS600 Fazer / Re: what can is this?????please« on: 01 July 2015, 10:04:10 pm »
the thing is there are no sp markings on it and I need to find a baffle for it????
one other thing is tonight I went to a local bike meet BMAD down in Torquay and all the other fzs first bolt where the foot peg is for the down pipe was on the inside and mine is on the out side...so when I came back I switched it to the inside now my centre stand wont go down...it looks like I have stainless down pipes....is this right???? 47
FZS600 Fazer / Re: What started you off....???« on: 01 July 2015, 04:14:10 pm »
at 8 went to go panny jumping down the local field and there were some big boys mucking around on a stolen DT175 all twisted up going up and down the field...when they had enough they just left it there so me and a couple mates took the chance to get on and have a bash ....didn't have a clue what we were doing took two of us to kick start this thing and get it going
and I remember we couldn't stop the thing so we were going as slow as we could...then we would change riders one on one off ....didn't give a shit at that age it was a new toy...I will say it was f#'king fast we all came off a few times... didn't matter I was always the next to go on even though id just come off and finished my go of and on from then any one that went down the local quarry on there RM80s or CR125 I was there messing with the big boys until I was 16 got my first 50cc it was a rd50 then 17 had an A reg RD125LC then a brand new 89 model TZR125 three spoke wheels mark two....and that was the start 48
