Rear caliper paint
« on: 09 February 2014, 05:00:11 pm »
Hi, I need to overhaul rear brake caliper of my 2002 Fazer, the original paint is coming off in large flakes.
Any recommendations for best paint to use on it?
cheers Dave

Rustoleum paint is probably the best to use, this stuff is tougher than john. L. Sullivan!
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

I used some black high temp paint on mine, think it was simmonz spray paint. It's worked great, went on nice and smooth and has lasted very well. Prep is the main thing when painting though, some not too harsh sand paper to remove any flakes and smooth off the surface first, even a wire brush for the hard to reach places. I put an under coat primer on first before the black top coat. I sprayed the bracket and stay bar as well.

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.
