Rough running

Finally got the old girl out today - hardly been used for a year... and was very rough at lowish revs - even got the odd backfire.
Carbs were balanced last year, but I reckon could be out again - does this sound likely?

dont think your carbs will be out of sync??....more than likely combo of stale fuel and mabe bit of damp on plugs?..put some fresh fuel in it and run it about? i hadnt run mine for bt 3months and it ran like shit for couple days?..then was fine after that!!

Fuel was March I think - I've had older so should be OK. Fine when the revs rise.
