Fucktard car designers who think "yup, it's an excellent idea to have the dash lights on when the car is running, irrespective of if the car main lights are on or not"

FECKIN NO!!!!! You end up with the soppy twats driving at night with just their running lights looking at their dash thinking their lights are on. See it more and more....aaaarrrgggghhhhh  :grumble
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.

I have just not 1 hour ago had that same conversation after seeing a car with NO lights on at all. I was scratching my head thinking how can they not know because on my dash I get extra lights around the cd player and heating controls that I would notice were not on.
I was putting it down to a section of new LED lamposts that give a very goo clean bright white light meaning that you cannot see your own lights affect
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

Sharpy, next time you pass a car like this have a peak inside and see the speedo and rev counter lit up. Citroens and Toyota Prius are classics.

Fazersharp, my view is the same as Frosties etc as I tend not to notice "other lights " in the car. If its dark outside and the speedo is visible then my lights must be on. This is one reason when I drive my dads Audi I go into the menus and turn off the DRL's.

There are another bunch of fecwits though. Those who drive down the road with no lights on and you wonder when the last time they looked at their speedo was as there is no way that they could have seen it in the dark.

My speedo and main dash is an lcd but in reverse in that it is black but the numbers are silver/clear and it is permanently lit green from the back other wise you would not see them. But to help me realize my lights are not on as well as the cd ect being lit, the main permanently lit dash dims when the lights ar turned on so that you realize that its looking brighter than it should.
So yes it is a bad design that can lead to driver error but as you say people just must not be looking at the dash at all.

Cage drivers that drive about with only one headlight working, went to the chippie on thursday and saw at least 3 in the space of about 4 miles. Surley you must notice if they are not both working.  :wall

I mentioned that on a different post yesterday.
They do fecking notice, they're just lazy bastids that don't care.
I've seen one overtaking a car coming towards me before that had no right light, so the car was on my side of the road but the only lit light looked like a bike within its lane.

When i'm finally allowed to get my machine gun fitted to my fairing, probably during WW3, it won't be so much of an issue.  :2guns

I think part of the issue with that is the fact that the headlamp bulbs on most cars are so difficult to replace nowadays due to limited access to the rear of the lamps.

There is so much extra stuff under the bonnet these days and it all has to be crammed in somewhere.

I've been told that on some models the bumper has to come off to change a bulb!.

I reckon it puts people off trying to do it themselves, when years ago it would have been a breeze.

Totally agree - hence shed loads of poorly aligned (read "cack handed replacement") lights shining all over the place. Never used to be an issue.

Cage drivers who have one out of 3 or more brake light bulb that actually light up

Cage drivers who let halfrauds  "we're shit" fit a new headlight bulb upside down.

Tyre fitters who think rear tyres don't need balancing
Tyre fitters that use air guns to do up the nuts and then use a torque wrench to pretend they are doing it properly
Tyre fitters that over inflate tyres by 30% because they are too feccin lazy to check the correct pressure.

Wankers in 4x4s who cannot  foccing use them,  I came to a dip in the road that was flooded to find one in front  of me that was doing a multi point turn to avoid the flood and  then I took my Focus through and the "flood" was only about six inches deep.

Sky TV!  You pay for the service /channels and they still pepper everything with adverts. Every time you put the telly on it will be adverts. I can watch adverts while eating breakfast and finish before anything comes on like a tool!

I rarely watch anything that i've not recorded now.
I make a living out of commercials/films, but i'm fucked if i'm gonna sit there and watch ads.
An hour long show is generally around 40 minutes long in reality, i just hit the 2 minute forward button twice on my remote and it cancels them out.
Saves a hell of a lot of timewasting, and i can watch 3 x 1 hour long programmes in just over 2 hours.

Yep, the only thing I watch "live" is the News and even then I tend to switch it on, stick it on Live Pause, put the TV on standby and get on with something else for a while before speed-reading the news ticker and seeing if there's actually anything that is of sufficient interest to watch.

Given that so much news these days seems to be vox-pops of people going "oh isn't it terrible that this happened to me" or talking heads given tedious "analysis" that very often adds bugger all to the understanding of the situation, it saves a lot of time!

Motorway warning signs that cry wolf. Central reservation signs saying 50 for 4 miles then an overhead sign saying Animals In Road, then 1/4 mile further on End. No sign of any animals and probably never were.
Last night I saw one that made me chuckle, 1st one said Don't Drink And Drive and then a few miles down the road the next one just said End
So Im guessing after that point its ok to drink at the wheel

Today's "What gets my goat" is......

Public outpouring of grief over a musician who was only mildly talented but is only famous for surviving as long as he did on a diet of narcotics and alcohol. I read today that he was a "leading light of rock" & a "truly talented musician".... Really??? he had a voice that sounded like a wookie gargling gravel and a guitar that judging by his music only had 3 strings (all of the being G chord).

OK he was famous in the 70's & 80's when most music sucked and anyone who could shout into a microphone could be famous then..... As you can guess I'm not a fan. It's sad that someone has lost their life but don't deify the bloke.

Car insurance companies

Got rear ended on Sunday night and couldn't get the claim booked until this morning. Spent all morning on the foccin phone and still haven't got a feccin hire car. I must admit, I made it a bit harder for them. I told them I am off to France this weekend and need a similar sized 4x4 to lug all the booze back in safety at 140kmh.
