FZS600 Fazer / Indicators flashing fast when bike is revved
« on: 30 November 2020, 01:19:06 pm »
Hi all, I'm hoping the people of this amazing forum can help with an ongoing issue I've been having. When the engine is off or at tickover the indicators all flash and normal pace, however once the revs go up they double in speed. All four indicators are standard bulb type, I've checked all fuses and all are good, I'm thinking maybe it could be voltage regulator? This would also explain the early cut in of my cooling fan which I've had for a long time too.. any thoughts or routes to go down would be greatly received.

FZS600 Fazer / Engine tear down
« on: 18 November 2020, 08:22:45 pm »
Hi guys, so recently tried to cheat when replacing the cam chain on my 2001 fzs 600. Was going fine until... I dropped the joining link into the dark depths of the cam chain tunnel, I'm assuming it's caught up somewhere down in the crank case, my question is... How possible is it to take off the cylinder head and block with the engine in situ? And is there anything likliy to spring out of place by removing the head and block? I know it's a noob question to ask but there you go. Any help or advice.. would be welcomed, and I do expect the right amount of piss taking too.. thanks in advance.

FZS600 Fazer / Fan/cooling problems!
« on: 04 August 2020, 10:05:31 pm »
Hi Guys, contrary to my handle, this is my second fzs 600 and I'm having a bit of an issue with the cooling system, the problem is, as the bike runs and warms up, it gets to temperature rather quickly, between 8 and ten minutes at idle, the fan will kick on to cool but never goes off. Even on a ride once the fan comes on to cool the water it will not switch off.

I've done a few things to troubleshoot, drained and refilled the system, bled it through thoroughly, I have changed the water pump, which now is definitely working as I can see it pushing the water around with revs at the radiator with the cap off, I have had the thermostat out and tested and is opening and closing as it should, next thing I am going to check is remove and inspect the rad to see if this is blocked at all... But after that I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to check next, any help or direction as to what/where to look next would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

FZS600 Fazer / Possible lean running?
« on: 13 April 2012, 01:30:56 am »
Hi guys I'm new here an I'm new to the fazer to iv owned it since November last year and it's all going well so far iv had the cam chain tensioner replaced as iv found that this is a comman fault this has made a huge difference to the noisy engine that it was lol I had the carbs balance at the same time which was also needed, but my question is this, I recently put a un baffled beowolf can on the bike (which sounds great) but iv found out that the popping/burbling it does now on deceleration could mean its running lean? It's got also a hiflow air filter and oil filter, but was thinking about the individual k n n filters, anyway iv herd conflicting things about this running lean situation so I was going to get the bike rolling roaded and basically was wondering if they would be able to diagnose it from this and give me info on what I can do as iv herd it's bad for the engine, I'm new to tuning bikes but wanna get stuck in, any advise would be awesom cheers :)
