Yes, yes, yes - not sure if I've done it right, but the end result is fab  :)

Oops, spoke to soon!

Frazer - what have I done wrong?  Is there an explanation section for adding pictures to posts?  I copied the http address from the 'properties' window of the image in the media file, but something's not right here  :eek

Hi Helen, thank you for your testing. The more people test the better and more friendlier we can make the site before we go 'live'.

That field, the "HTML embed code", is irrelevant and confusing. I've looked at the gallery options and cannot find an option to get rid of it so I will see if I can manually change the page's code when I've next got time at home. The "Direct link" is also irrelevant and can go.

So in answer to your first question, the field you want is the BBC embed code - can you think of a better name? If you click the (?) you'll see it's got all sorts of options for the amateur geek :)

In answer to your second question, there is not yet an explanation page. I've asked for a volunteer (see here) but no takers so far. Would you like to write one? There's many ways of adding a picture on here, so if you can write about one of the methods it will be a big help.

The html and direct link are no longer there. Instead of "BBC embed code" how about "foc-u embed code" or "Forum embed code" or can you come up with something better?

Hmm, still not sure if I've done it right.  Seems like a very long winded way of getting a picture posted.  The only way I could get the embed code was to go to my album first, select the filestack option, open the picture file and copy the code.  Then I opened a new reply, used the 'insert image' icon and copied the embed code into the http address line in the pop up window.

I'm also not sure why the code is appearing at the bottom of the picture in the post. Is there another way of inserting a picture which I haven't worked out yet?

Frazer, if that's the right method I can write a short explanation.  I can even screenshoot the relevant bits of screen into the explanation - but I wanted to check that I'm not missing any vital steps first!  :book

:b :b :b  Unfair - I wash my bike at least once a year, whether it needs it or not!!

Think I'm getting the hang of this, but is there a way to not show the picture tag if you upload using the 'attachment' option?

...and why is my postcount stuck at 8, or is it just new board gremlins?

No I don't think that there is. You could upload it somewhere and then link to it as an internet link instead of an image link e.g.:
Code: [Select]
http://foc-u.co.uk/new/e107_themes/focit2/images/logo.jpgis the foc-u Yuku banner and gives this:
http://foc-u.co.uk/new/e107_themes/focit2/images/logo.jpg Is that what you meant?

Re post counts, it works differently here. On Yuku your first post will always be post number 1, then 2 etc. Here, once you have made 8 posts, all your posts will be number 8 :\ I don't particularly like that but all other messageboards (except Yuku) work this way.

I just realised looking at Raz's posts that the reason your postcount isn't going up is because posts in the lab don't count towards it. Sorry :kiss

No worries, it's not like post counts mean very much!

Did you write up the picture method?  Or did you still want me to put something together?
