Has anyone modded a 98 fazer fuel tank opening to help stop the airlock when filling? It takes ages to get the last litre in.
One litre is about 10-15 miles. Is it really worth all the effort?
Thanks ,I am sure i saw a how to on this years ago but could not find it.
If i do it it will be drilled after emptying purging with gas and full of water.

40 miles on 2 litres???That would be 440 miles on a (now modded) 22 litre tank. Average mileage is 45 miles per gallon.
http://www.fuelly.com/motorcycle/yamaha/fzs600_fazer You had it set on US gallons (approx. 6.4 UK pints) I thought it was odd 'cos I never get less than 60mpg from mine.

A US pint is 16 fl oz (1 lb in weight) not 20, like ours, but still has 8 pints, 128 fl oz against our 160 fl oz, our gallon weighs 10 lb.Ha, never even saw that, i never even knew they were a thing in the states
I have always averaged about 10 miles per litre (45mpg) on my FZS600, ST1100 and CBF1000 with mixed riding. My FZR1000 was (quite) a bit thirstier.Comuting on the FZS600 into London from Sussex averaged about 50mpg
I did this mod when I had a Gen 2 Fazer 1000. I just used a long sharpened tapered punch. No drilling and the associated swarf etc. Easy peasy !
