If my memory serves me well which on occasion it can,was there not some legalities when the blue suited fazerman first made this site about the name Yamaha being used in the title of the site,or is that an imagined rumblings of a member when the site was first born??
I know i dont visit this site as much as i used to and am not going to explain why but i wouldnt like to see it vanish because of a logo.?

I totally understand the problems that arise from using a companies logo, so why do we not put together a request to yamaha to get authorisation to use their logo on a limited run of stickers??
I understand this might be a no go, but if you don't ask you don't get!
I do not mind putting together a email to yamaha regarding this.
Of course this might have already been done by F.O.C.U back when it was all started, if so i'll shut up and go back to my corner! :)

Mark.

Sounds like a good idea. Shy kids get nothing as they say. Or on the other hand, if we say nothing, who is going to know? If a tree falls in the woods, and no-ones there, does it make a noise?

Feeling a little philosophical today::)

do we need to go to that length?

As mel has clearly stated - he has NO issues with "advertising" the FOCU forum - I thought thats what the idea behind the stickers was all about?

Therefore - do we need the Yamaha Logo at all on the sticker - wouldnt FOC-U be enough. if thats all that needs to go on the sticker, then it can be larger and more visible.

I still vote for DryRob's basic "foc-u.co.uk" one (without a logo).

Something basic will allow for to be read at a larger distance I guess...

Just having the web address does feel a little bland though, potentially use the Fazer logo instead of the Yamaha one - granted its another logo, but no one seems to have as much of an issue with this compared to the actual company logo.

Quick example I mocked up

Ok so i originally voted version 3 before things started kicking off & now i also agree that the simple foc-u.co.uk would look cool, being the uniform type it would look cool if everyone had it on their swingarm & then if we ever seen a fazer we'd know just where to look.is the original vote thing now void??.

I think that exupnut should be sent on a pilgrimage with a job lot & a balaclava & stick them on any fazer he sees like a foc-u vigilante. :evil

I can see what folk are trying to do with the logos because it does look cooler but then for the swing arm the logos i feel would be a bit overkill.

Plus foc-u is offensive, offensive is good,we layyyk a very much!

:groan :wall :smash  As far as I am aware Laura at Fatmaggot do these already (sorry if I'm wrong  :o ) .

It's like having a wee splinter group on here, what's the point in having Admin if we don't heed what they are saying.

A wee splinter group that really is testing my patience.

I'll thank you all for not doing things on behalf of the forum without clearing it with one of the ad-mods first.

It's not as if I was wording an email to be sent from my foc-u email to Yam UK or anything.

I don't suppose you asked him for the updated press contacts and site access, the person to talk to about obtaining affiliation benefits or anything else we as admins were working on?

No?
Thought not.

Take this as your coat being on a very shaky nail warning as my not inconsiderable patience is now definitely depleted.

I did contact oldmotherfoccer via PM to confirm this was alright before I posted the stickers on the thread.

However, I will remove the images from the thread, as per your requeste, until the whole yamaha logo etc legalities is sorted out.

Thanks.

Stuff the stickers then

I wont lose any sleep over not havin them & anyway i quite like my shiny swing arm & the extra weight might make me slower :rolleyes  and thus let a bandit rider get passed me.

I did check fatmaggot for some stickers but for the life of me i can't see them anywhere, just t-shirts.

I dont think anyone's trying to be awkward here, not everyone understands the history or where stuff is,how things are done etc etc but points well taken anyway, maybe you should have a special cage for us newbs when we get too enthusiastic just chuck us in it for 24 hrs :'(

Oh well, good luck!

In hindsight, just having the name on the sticker would have been a better, more simple idea. It was the reason for this thread really, to get ideas together etc.

Cheers fellas.

As I say, we don't just move posts and edit usernames, there are always things we're working on to improve this here board for you all.

It isn't instantaneous though, we can only work on certain parts of our to do list as life away from here allows.
There's Facebook connection, Yam UK, improved mapping for "a Foccers guide", calling cards, and Tapatalk insisting on releasing updates that break stuff, that's just my current  list, Farjo has his own list too,

Enthusiasm is appreciated, but nominating yourself as a spokesperson is taking the piss just a little.

well iam feeling a little bit guilty now as i did post on this thread and therefore am part of the splinter group :o .....i am 110% sure that it was`nt anyones intention to take the piss , without the mods this forum wouldnt exisist, with a few area ride outs now taking place, meeting people for the first time ,making new friends and above all enjoying the one thing we have in common.......enjoying our FAZERS....it would be  a shame to spoil things over a STICKER...........can i suggest those who want to promote the site and are proud to be a foccer order their stickers from fatmaggot and put this sticky situation to rest  :)
