Keep in mind guys that if you've got a napper like Quassimodo  your gonna struggle, I expect you can get made to measure but they will be pricey :lol

Are you intending to keep the tastefully dented can ( looks like the standard one) or will you be heading for a slip on/ivans etc,  the reason I am asking is I have a standard one minus the dents going spare .

Thanks Dazza  im not being lazy but my bike doesn't live at my house, as I said they are on ebay  and Wheelywill  has some shots of his on his bike.  as I previously said I used it once its as new, At the end of the day if it was dodgy it wouldn't always show in photos.  Im not about to get a bad name on this site lying to people over a screen and £40 inc p+p is a fair price

The thing ive learned is someone who is roughly your size may thing a certain screen is brilliant and you buy one only to find it not so great for you...ive certainly found it to be the only thing that there isn't an easy solution t., Under advice on this site from some people who are generous with their time and knowledge most things can be remedied but screens....... Im not expecting total wind protection its a sport/tourer after all not a touring battleship but I am sure it can be better than it is, so thats why im trying yet another screen.

Ive just sent for one to try, after saying I wouldn't do this anymore...up to now I have tried a Zero Gravity d/b  a Yam touring screen   a Vario and a Powerbronze d/b which I bought first and keep ending up putting back on. Soon as I read a review on another screen it starts me to thinking "is this the one" as lack of weather protection especially when touring is an issue, and I am reluctant to swap to another bike as the FZS1 does tick so many other boxes......so fingers crossed.

Just put braided lines on my o4 fzs1 ,a very marked difference it seems my old standard ones were letting me take liberties as to where I applied them as they were quite soft,  I also fitted some BT30s at the same time which in retrospect might not have been the brightest thing ive done. But tyres now bedded in( I had bt23s on last time and liked them a lot as it seemed to rain everywhere I went) and im getting used to the brakes albeit a bit more gently than my first couple of stopping manouvres :lol

« on: 18 July 2013, 07:00:12 pm »
I have had a similar problem where by I think my exup valve isn't straight ive put it on a straight edge, I bought some v blocks and looked at it and with the naked eye it looks good, but I can clean and lube it and after a few rides it starts flicking 7000 again, On a recent run around Scotland every morning it would jump but as soon as I started riding it would act as normal, if I stopped the engine having a break it would jump when putting the key in the start position but then be OK riding.  once I saw it was ok when riding I just ignored it and gave it a clean when I got home.

Just returned (Wednesday) from 5 days in beautiful Scotland...I say beautiful because I remember it from last time, it was too  cloudy and wet to see much this time. If it wasn't raining it was going to not to mention the gale force winds fu*k me its July. When is Jamie Oliver gonna do Scotland ...deep fried everything,  and to top it off I just about managed to beat my speeding ticket home and find out then that the kilted chappies don't do the "naughty boy class" so its £60 and 3 points................Think I will try August next year  :lol

Getting stressed wont help, you will just end up more tense when riding, which is tiring.  You will soon get used to the difference in fact you wont notice it once you get some saddle time in. If its your first time to Scotland enjoy its great, im going again in July :)
