Has any of you experienced brake disks from ABE?  UK manufactured (apparently)  for the 600 they're priced at £110 each.  Surely must be better than going Chinese.
Other options are EBC @ £149 each+post
or
having mine straightened @ £60 pair   great option except my disks are measuring 3.4mm

Any thoughts

FZS600 Fazer / thicker sprocket nut worth a check
« on: 28 January 2017, 01:52:44 pm »
Been experiencing grinding sounds in the chain department and a quiet knock on corners; thinking it related to the winter road crap and salt (how much lube do I have to throw  at this not year old chain ffs) I figure a clean is in order.

Removed the front cover, loads of crap around the front sprocket so the scoop out begins and suddenly once enough crud is removed to my horror the the sprocket wobbles.

The new wider nut has come off. I found the lock washer down below which had been bent round the nut as required

but some how flattened off.

I replaced the chain and sprocket in May, torqued correctly (imo) to the spec suggested for wider  nut.

Any advice much appreciated

General / Bloody dropped it.
« on: 03 November 2015, 06:41:38 pm »
In a hurry forgot to take off disk lock and dropped it.  Luckily the lock broke and left the disk in tact. Sod's law though I've removed the crash bar but think my leg took most of the strain lol. Had a quick look for damage and even though the indicator is pointing upwards the fairing looks undamaged.   If anyone has a spare brake lever I may be in need as mine has bent quite a bit :(

Any of you good foccers near to coulport?  I have the opportunity of temporary  posting up there and was wondering whether it would be worth coming up on the bike. Are there good rides to take advantage of on my rest days?

General / moto gp: mistake or tear off
« on: 01 July 2015, 01:26:42 am »
Just watching the Assen  highlights 10 laps to go. The commentators say Rossi makes a mistake, knows it, gives a little left hand to thank Maques  for not running him over.  Looked to me that he was just removing a tear off. Am I wrong, did he make a mistake?

FZS600 Fazer / Clutch adjustment screw
« on: 28 June 2015, 02:04:18 pm »
Tried adjusting the clutch using the screw  in the sprocket cover.   Loosened the locknut right off but the screw won't turn either direction, I have even tried tapping the driver with a hammer in same way you would with impact driver but fear perseverance could end in rounding the crosshead.  Is there something I am missing or is it just a bad case of seized screw?

General / integrated dishwasher

Calling all domesticated foccers with an integrated dishwasher

I'm considering installing an integrated dishwasher into a existing 600mm base unit.
My problem is will I have to remove the cupboard base?  Also forgetting the front panel, how far does the top sit below the work surface?
If possible pics would be a great help.
cheers

General / Bearing codes
« on: 20 March 2015, 05:08:05 pm »
I have a bearing in need of replacing (not on bike) with  6003DU8 stamped on the cover.  What does the DU relate to?
What is the difference between the DU bearing and the  6003 2RS. The sizes are the same.

Also I seem to remember there was a bearing supply catalog posted a while back but I can't find it, be a great help if there is one available
Cheers

« on: 26 January 2015, 09:56:06 am »
I see the above bike every day I in the multi story car park in central London.  It hasn't moved for atleast 2 months. So I got to thinking it may be it's someone's on here that has been stolen and abandoned there.
