Title: Paint code?
Post by: Jimmy2wheels on 03 September 2017, 09:59:07 am
Ok, I give up. Where can I find the paint code for my 2001 silver fazer?

...also, can anyone recommend a cheap place to buy it. Paint is pricey.

if your having the entire bike painted by a pro (or even your mate in a shed with a compressor)
might aswell look into a modern twist of the original colour
red/burgundy - maybe a candy
silver - shimmer silver
black - - spend an entire weekend wetsanding and get it to a perfect reflection (its really not easy)
blue - there are some really nice metallics out there now (some say the blue ones are faster so go even faster with a better blue lol)

paint is expensive no matter what unless your doing a touchup - just make sure you buy a good 2k or you will regret it in the long run
once its painted and 'dry' keep putting it outside in the sun every chance you get it is suprising how soft paint really is for some time
so the UV and heat helps cure the paint

i have my eye on some paint from https://www.custompaintshop.co.uk (https://www.custompaintshop.co.uk)  but im keeping which one to myself lol

I'm just trying to flick in a piece of fairing 'cause it had a crack and I filled it. I was tempted to matt black rat the lot, though.

there is a massive cage holding tha fairing in place that also holds the speedo
its a pain in the arse to deal with and can be considered unsafe by the boys in blue
i chopped mine down and ran dominators for a while but that ment altering the wiring loom to accept a moving headlight and stationary speedo

Yeah, I watched your video in it. I'm thinking of chopping the tail off too. I really like the look of the wunderwaffe bike. Google it. There's a video on it too.

I went there and watched this... :) Like some kind of industrial rat / bobber creation.

Not particularly difficult to pull off the basic concept? Cutting the rear frame (solo seat + fitting might take some imaginative solution). Plus custom front end, once the OE front fairing has been removed. A standard FZS600 really would be a blank canvas for this - sweet project. :)

I think they call it a war bike. I was thinking matt black paint and a browny suede seat. 😆
