I hope you can help me to test this relay or I wonder if anyone is local to Croydon. That I could fit this relay on their bike and see if it is working. At the moment I have the neutral light on all the time. I can hear the relay click when I pull in the clutch lever. I also need a side stand switch as that is faulty. My neutral light switch was seized so had to get one of those.
If you can help or suggest. Thanks in advance

Vince

Not local, so can't help much in practical terms.  However, you could try removing and cleaning both neutral and side stand switches if you haven't already.  Both get really crudded and oiled up but provided the wiring is intact, it's possible to blast the crap out of the switch internals with WD-40.  You can also jump the contacts on the sidestand switch as a get-you-going measure and/or for fault-finding.

Thanks for your help. I have removed the side stand switch as it is faulty and ordered a new neutral switch. I started a blog and uploaded a video for others if they  need help. i could not find easily how to remove the neutral switch.

Re the starting relay. It looks like a large relay with about 16 connections on it. It is under the side panel on the same side as the side stand. I have found the neutral light on the dash is on all the time even if the switch is disconnected.

Hi Vince,

Handy video, thanks.  I don't know if you tried searching the US FZ1OA forum but that's good resource to dip into.  This post may give you some clues to trace your permanently on neutral light:
