Hi,

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, did anyone buy from SFS as an individual? I am springing leaks out of old tired hoses and this may be the best route.

Hi, I have had a few emails back and fore from the guy at sfs that did the original order. They seem to want us to do another group buy but we don't have enough people so I'm still pressing them for a price for individual kits. I'll try again today.

Chris

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Looks like there could be a few, not as many as last time but could always tell SFS there is more than one. I assume nobody has had any since group buy, so hopefully be a few lurking around.

Thanks Chris

Yeah, there are a few have mentioned it. There needs to be a minimum of ten for a group buy though so unless a couple are willint o buy more than one kit, like noggy and myself did last time, then I'm not sure.

Will let you know when I hear back.

Count me in  :)
What colour pipes would look good on a black bike, besides black?

red would look good with a black bike I thought. Blue always my favourite though. haha.

Had trouble getting hold of the guy last time but could try again.

Like I said before though for a group buy we'd need at least 10.

I'd suggest a new thread with the important info copied and pasted, titled along the lines of 'SFS rad hose group buy, who's in?'

I'm not doing it, it's too late and I'm ill. And I'm not bothered!

I might be interested in a red set, dependent on cost, and when we'd get them. Put me down as a maybe, please!  :)

I'm happy to set up another deal, unless someone else wants to do it, as long as we get ten+ people as definite buyers. I don't have the spare cash to buy a set or two, like myself and Noggy did last time, to bulk up the numbers so it's up to the rest of you to make the ten+.

I imagine the kits will be at around the £130 to £140ish mark so budget for that. I will confirm an exact price as soon as I can.

I'll start another thread for people to put there names down but I think the discussion should still be held in here or we'll end up with two threads speaking about the same thing and info will get missed.

Chris

EDIT: thread started for people to put their names down for the second group buy: http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,12648.0.html

Hello again one and all!

I've Private Messaged everyone who has said they have been interested since the last group buy so will wait and see how many are still interested and put their names down.

I will Email SFS and say that we are going down the group order route and that will hopefully spur them on a bit too to get us a proper price for the kits.

All the best,

Chris

Has anybody fitted blue hoses to a black bike or any other colour to that matter?

Is it possible to post some photos, please?

Thanks

Noggy fitted them to a silver bike and they look spot on,

Pictures from the last group buy start on page 11 of this thread, have a look from there and there should be pics of quite a few different combos.

Would love to do it but £130..... Apart from looks, is it really worth it, are they better quality than the originals? No offence if you've already done it as they do look awesome!

Well, they're silicone instead of rubber so they'll last forever in bike years... the rubber ones on most peoples bikes are original and starting to show their age so not a bad idea to replace them. It also encourages people to change their coolant which is an often overlooked service item by DIY servicing.

They do look so much better than the standard ones too, if you don't want them to be too flash then you can get black ones which are nice and shiny  :D

It's not cheap but I'm pretty sure everyone that bought them last time loves them.

I found that my old rad pipes were (for a better word) rotting inside and I had little black pieces of rubber in the system. After fitting the new rads I flushed the system twice as I was having performance problems with stuttering and suspected that icing was taking place. After the second flush with new rads on and doing other work on the bike it is sweet again.

DAZ!!! Glad to see you're still about buddy!

Hope the bike is still going good.

My old rad pipes were definitely past their best too, had gone all hard and started cracking at the ends etc.

Chris

P.S. they did smell amazing! Bet they won't smell so good now they've had coolant running through them for the last year... That stuff smells like cats piss and old farts...  :\
