Anyone replaced your rad hoses? Can you just get a length of rad hose and cut it to the different lengths or do they have to be made to measure? And if you can just get a length of hose and cut it what diameter or type is on the Fazer?

It's only hose i s'pose, but aren't they normally shaped to fit properly?

not looked but pretty sure they have some tight bends in them......trying to bend a straight hose is going to kink it and restrict flow  :)

Could always take the old ones off and send pics and measurements off to some hose websites see what they could do for you. I fancy some red silicone ones myself

Good plan, had a little look into this myself. These guys have a good rep as far as I have heard and might be able to make up a kit for the fzs600 http://www.sfsperformance.co.uk/prod_bikekits.asp?make=yamaha

Not sure what itmight cost though... Will email them myself tomorrow and see what they say  8)

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

No point in getting things made for you, just order what you need and be done with it, new pipes will outlast the bike!

Well, sent them an email at about 8:30 this morning and had a reply within 10 minutes! The very nice man from SFS said that if I sent him an OEM hose kit then he would let me know the price for making it in silicon hose and then if we got a few orders in then they would make the tooling for the kit.

I've emailed him back to ask how many kits he would need orders for before they create the tooling so just waiting to hear back again. I'm also going to enquire about if we got a group buy on it for the forum would we get a discount and would we all be able to select different colours too. They do all the usual silicon vibrant colours eg. blue, green, red, black, purple...

UPDATE: Wow, in the time it took me to write this post he's emailed back again! Good service is always a good sign. He said he'd need a minimum of ten kits ordered and he won't know how much a kit will cost until he's seen the oem parts. the tooling cost wil also not be known until he's seen the oem pipes and then got an order for 10 sets.

Funds allowing, if we got say 6 to 8 of us together then i'd probably buy the extra (depending on costs) and sell them seperately.

Another point is does anyone have a spare set of OEM hoses kicking about or am I going to have to buy a set to send to him then sell them on after?  :) I see that fazerspares has a full oem set for £25 if noone has a spare set sitting about so I wouldn't mind getting that and sending it on to sfs.

Need to find out for sure if they are the same for all models of Fazer first?

Also true, although there is nothing in the changes by year thread that says there was. does anyone know if this is correct?

@darrsi - that link points to an Item for the FZ6 S2 - not the FZS600. The Item title is deceiving once you read the main body...

It is confusing but i've been comparing these pipes and they do look the same don't they? That's not a guarantee from me though!  ;)

As already pointed out, those are for the Newer machine. there are a few places that do kits for the FZ6 and also for the FZS1000 and FZ1 but none for the fZS 600. Anyway, if anyone is interested then let me know.  :)

I just compared the main large hose with 3 bikes from 98 to 03 and they're all the same part number on AJ Sutton's site.

Apologies, they do look very similar. I was just being cautious and hope you appreciate that I wasn't trying to demean your post :)

This is something I would be potentially interested in if the price was right :) I'll check my old burnt Fazer to see if the old rad pipes survived enough to give a good example of what we need - would save the £25 buying a new set :)
