So we've gone from an hour West in Bedford to an hour and a half East in Colchester? What about the middle?

I used to get this with Bridgestones but with Metzelers it doesn't seem to happen. Possibly something to do with the profile of the tyre.

I once had someone who had been riding behind me tell me he could smell unburnt fuel and it was because I'd put an after-market can on but still had the standard air filter.  The exhaust was letting the gasses out faster but the filter wasn't letting air in quickly enough. Once I switched to a K&N filter which lets more air in it was sorted.

Make sure your air filter isn't clogged up and/or check that the carbs are properly set up for any after-market exhaust bits you've got.

Other than that, as Gnasher says, just ride it. That way you won't be able to smell it
