:\   1961 ...  Yes I remember it well .. I'd already been a biker for five years by then .. regulation gas mask bag for the spanners, chain links, tape and bits of wire .. Barber waxed cotton trials suit, flat cap on backwards with Spitfire Pilots goggles to keep it on  :b

Regular twice a week ride-out from Royal Navy Base's in Plymouth, Portsmouth or Portland up to Brum and back, no motorways, no street lighting, no cat's eyes on the B roads.

A good telling off and a swift kick up the arse if you get pulled over .. by a fellow biker cop ;o)

Probably the best days of my life .. if only I had know it at the time  :'(

Stay Safe Guys  ;)    Trev   The Polar Bear.    (Oh .. and yes I might well be your Dad  8) )

I have an nsu petrol tank hanging up in my garage that I use when I'm balancing my carbs.......but before I got it my father used it to power a little two stroke engine connected to a dynamo to provide some lighting during the miners strikes and power cuts of the 70's. Oh happy days.
