So with Ducati's four man line up there are definately  some wanna be's, but can Spies pull this one off?  Dovi, he's a tryer , should be a good championship amongst thereselves.

Great combo - the bad luck of Spies with the nightmare that is Ducati! Not sure it's a match made in heavan. Only way Ducati will win a race is, and I hate to say it, if they have another Stoner type rider. Someone who is willing to ride to the limit and beyond , the only riders to win on a Ducati were Stoner and Capirossi and they both rode it like a bucking bronko. Who knows, may be this year will be different?

Respek to Bayliss as a WSB racer but what did he do in motoGP? Genuine question btw.

Won a Spanish GP on a Ducati the year Hayden won his championship - by a good margin.  He did that as a one off ride when he was in WSBK so he could ride ok.....impressive when all the others had a season on their machines and he didn't.
In my opinion (for what its worth) the ducati doesn't seem amenable to being adapted to the rider, rather the rider has to adapt to the bike to get the best out of it which I think is what stoner realised so he did well on it...

Ooooh yeah, I remember that. He blitzed the field. Seems that only Stoner could manage to make the Duke work though!

Should Ducati just pack up and go home? oops, poor chaps

From MCN below

After the first test of 2013, Valentino Rossi is back on top pace, running in fourth place, while Andrea Dovizioso (who took his ride at Ducati) is in a lowly 13th place. Former teammate Nicky Hayden is top Ducati in 10th, while fellow American ben Spies is in the last of the full time GP machine riders, back in 17th place.
Has the time come for Ducati to admit that their current GP bike is a waste of their time and money, or do you think they're still making steady progress? Will an infusion of Audi cash mean that they can only go forward thsi year?
And poor Ben Spies, last in 17th fastest.

I just don't understand why they can't make a fast bike work properly, perhaps they just can't get it to work with Bridgstone tyres - or (perhaps) their riders just don't believe it can win anymore so their commitment is just a bit less and so it doesn't win .......kind of self fulfilling prophecy who knows?
It seems such a shame they can't sort it out.........perhaps a bit of Audi efficiency, focus and science can sort it out - Italian flair and passion certainly hasn't - perhaps there will be some 'Vorsprung Durch Technic' in the solution!
