It's a bit parky for leisure riding at the mo but up for a run to to the south coast once the weather gets a bit better.

gonna hold u to that Jzs600. i know many riders but just 3 who have fazer gen 1. me .....my brother.... and not u so that makes 2 (just saw ur pic lol) we both had fz6 at first. i have a bandit 650 for work. (and can ride it better) would be good to meet and have a blast.
pat...i checked the link and the WHOLE MONTH is empty lol city riders ride in the week to commute or deliver and so dont ride at the w/end. unless of course they have a second bike/Tool/FAZER THOU YESSSSS!!!! lol (AHEM!) but as ur in tooting we should meet.

Haven't been on the site for a little while but we always used to have meet ups at the Ace up until last year all year round some on bikes some in cars. I am definitely not up for a ride out until at least April!! sorry :sun . But be great to meet up with you and can introduce you to the other London foccers....and they are around honestly. Will call up the old gang.

it would be nice to just arrange somewhere to meet so as many peeps can come without foccin winjin on :wall personally i dont care where it is as long as we do it. some peeps will have to drive a bit further than others but hey ho at least we'll be avin a laff on our bikes yes? so come on guys lets all make the effort. first sunday in feb meet up somewhere at 12 ish av a laff for a few hours and foc off home. sounds good to me - say Sunday 3rd Feb then? We can fine tune details closer the time but i'll prob join you on Blackheath. I think it takes around 50mins to get from Hangar Lane to Blackheath btw

Would love to do this as tea hut at Blackheath not far as near Sevenoaks, BUT snow permitting will be going sand racing at Le Touquet on 3rd Feb., couldn't go last year due to snow, so changed train booking and went over for a day out in Mrach and they were on the beach in bikini's!! :\

hey guys...we dont HAVE to go for a long ride or even ride anywhere at all if its to cold or maybee just a small bimble somewhere. we could just meet up at the ace or blackheath and meet eachother as a prelude to march when it should be warmer. the more the merrier for the first time as long as we can make it regular each month. we have some nice machines and it would be a shame not to gather a southern crew of fazerists on a regular basis.

AHA!!! thanks deadeye.so its official and WILL happen. saw your post re ur bike and really did feel for u mate. save up a bit more B4 u buy would be my tuppence worth so u can get sumting a little special cos i think u deserve it. maybee someone on this ere forum may take say...2/3rd of payment and accept small payments to tidy off the balance. dont ask dont get. i am sure u will have everyones sympathy especially as u offered up any usable parts for free to any takers. fook....if i won the lottery i would buy u a bike just for the integrity of that post. take care fella

Is that you Paul? Now have Fazer8 after two lovely years with Stem's Gen1 Fazer 1000, given R1 to Alex as couldn't bear to sell it, but did ride it last Sunday as glue hadn't set on the heated grips on Fazer. Hope to catch up with you soon xx

Sure is christine hope all is well with you an the family i watched the first unity ride dvd the the other day brought back loads of good tlb memories from yesteryear actaully mentioned your riding skills on the r1 hope your enjoying fz8 although i know how much you loved your r1's...lol , remembered the magical ride when we tagged on the end of the bikesafe riders from cheltenham back to kent damn we made some progress to an from cheltenham that day :lol .

I worked for them in '86 and can't remember any controllers names. Stan was in the downstairs office. We were based at Chandos place back then?

How's this for a laugh? A chap was looking round my student house earlier today (the landlord is selling it). I thought he looked familiar, then I twigged: he was the instructor who'd failed me my CBT last February, and had jinxed my Mod 1 in Enfield in May!!! I asked him what he rode, and he replied a Fazer Thou. Whereupon, I gave the correct salute, AND HE RESPONDED!! :lol
He didn't know about either the forum or the rideout, so I told him about both. No idea if he'll show though.

Disaster has struck :(
Attempted to remove the existing downpipes today which appear to be the originals. Needless to say they are in bad condition and naturally, the god damn exhaust studs have decided to snap :'(
I've ordered new ones, but they take 3-5 days for delivery so I may be screwed for this Sunday :wall

is ther enough of the stud left to remove them easily....as a quick fix you could use a 6mm bolt and cut the head off ;)

There is enough of the stud left thankfully, so I may try and head to good ol' B&Q and see what they have available. Do the studs have different threads for the nuts and the engine head?

no ....same size thread mate...look for m6....not sure how long the standard ones are but if you get oversized bolts you could cut them to length...at a guess i would say 70mm.....iunless any other foccer knows different ;)

It looks as though the stud end is M6 but the head could be larger?

oh yes.......see what you mean.......thats stumped me,any foccers know the answer ?...........6 / 8 mm parhaps,thats a guess ..........if you can get one of the studs out before you go to b & q,you will be sure to get the right one,but thinking about it you would have to make the hole bigger in the header collar :eek ...it would still work though ;)

She's letting me out to play for a five day biking extravaganza with some mates in March to Cornwall then Pendine in Wales so I need to keep her sweet as she cooks, washes and irons for me.
Fear not though. There WILL be another time when I will come out and play with you.

u r more than welcome mate. be on here tomoro night and we will make some plans and saturday night make a definite decision once we r sure about the weather. 2 groups will meet, one at the ace cafe and one at blackheath cafe.(which is actually on the heath) if its gonna piss down sunday the group at blackheath will go to the ace where we can talk shit and be inside. if the weather is ok then the ace cafe group will go to blackheath and all of us onto southend. look frwrd to meeting u.

this is the plan hope it meets with your approoooval
at the mo the weather is GOOD TO GO....so all who r going to the ACE CAFE need to be there @ 11AM> i will be there to meet u and we can drive down to BLACKHEATH and meet the foccers who need to be there @ 12noon. then onto southend (1hour journey).
if it is raining then the foccers goin to BLACKHEATH need to be there @ 11AM. i will be there and we can drive to the ACE CAFE where we will meet the foccers at 12NOON. for tea and chat etc.
a good plan i think. lets stick to this chaps. and remember... THE MORE THE MERRIER so look frwd to seein u.

I was gonna fly up there and chew the cud over a cup of coffee depending on what time you're there... But if I'm the only one up there then sugest you give Blackheath a miss if that's what you were intending.
As I say it was dependent on time as I have a builder coming in the morning to look at some guttering. I was not going to join you for Southend, just Blackheath.

well,a good first meeting of the london foccers :D .....cheers exupnut ;) ....bit windy at blackheath but not enough to put me off and then a blast to southend......for tea and chips :) .....163 miles for me on just about a tank of the old motion lotion,not too sure what mpg that is ,but didnt buy a thou for eco reasons........well done to DEADEYE who made the trip by cage ;) see you on you new 6 next time......

A FOCCIN WICKED DAY :thumbup thankyou to all who made it to the heath and made the effort to drop by and say hello. it sure was chilly on the exposed heath but suprisingly not cold at all to and from southend so that was a blessing. a nice smooth ride down to saaaarfend and into a nice warm pub fer a drink and a nice chat about how we got into bikes was had by all. BRILLIANT :thumbup then a quick blip back to the smoke where we split off and liam and christo came back to mine for some grub and a jam session.perfect way to end the day. :guitar +1 to liam for bringing the cage :car sooooooo.....sun 3rd march......paul(red98) has the hot seat and will pick a place to meet and a destination so watch this space chaps as he will post soon. once again BIG THANKS TO ALL FOR COMING

hi all. a quick word about sunday march 3rd. red98 wont be able to make it due to a family commitment and therefore wont be choosing the meet/destination. soooooo we gonna choose some one else as we decided that each month somebody different can choose as long as they have turned up that month. after much deliberation and cogitations we managed to whittle it down to one person. it was a very difficult decision as u can imagine and we nearly came to blows over it but we got there in the end....and so...for his utter dedication to this fazer fraternity, for his complete devotion to all things mechanical, for being a nutjob and tryin to change the downpipes on a bike with 84,000 miles on the clock before our inaugural meet(did i spell that right?) for being a crap guitar player, and for turnin up in a cage and spendin twice as much on gogo juice as anyone else.......me and red98 have decided......wait for it........its coming.........DEADEYE!!

How many would be prepared to do this? The distance from Blackheath to Southend seems about equidistant to that of Oakdene to Dungeness. Oakdene is good cafe and meet up point and is a excellent doorway to the 'Garden of England' and offers some superb lane scratching opportunities. :'( :'(

Some members of my bike club the Alchemists (all night chemists) meet at the Bar One through the subway most wednesday nights. Feel free to come and join us talk bikes over a beer when you settle in.

Could do, could factor it to how many miles you want to do, Sammy Miller's in the New Forest for the Summer, Tulley's Farm Turners Hill for the Winter, through the lanes, no motorway to speak of. Sammy Millers would be mainly A272 with a stop at Loomies.
